photobucket.

OK, charge me some reasonable fee to host my photos, and let me link to them from places like 2p2. $400/year for some disk space that already exists, and to run servers which are already running is not it.

Or, if you're going to have top-end pricing, at least have software which approaches justifying the additional cost.

grrr. I guess I'll find a new spot to host.

Photobucket is taking the "soak the rubes who don't know any better" strategy. I still have some crap I hosted on there a long time ago when it was the best option. I go there occasionally for a few of my saved gifs. The site is interminably slow, unworkable, can't save gifs anymore (they convert it to a static image), and they told me a while back they weren't supporting the iOS app anymore. But yeah lets raise our prices.

You kids with your new-fangled tech-toys, what was so bad about 2009 that it had to change?

I might be getting rubed by using Amazon Photos as my way to back up my pics and vids. Better or cheaper option?

They were the New Orleans Jazz before they moved the team to SLC.

I have a 4TB external drive and a 1TB flash drive - so all my stuff is in two places.

Pretty sure president Bannon is going to subpoena everything in the cloud someday and go fishing for dirt on all of us. So I don't trust cloud backups.

Then again all he has to do is seize everyone's FB, google and bank records (for national security reasons of course - after the big Manhattan dirty nuke attack). They'd have a comprehensive knowledge of everyone and everything to a level the KGB, Stasi and Orwell could only dream of.

Orwell never really covered how the 2-way screens got into everyone's homes. In our case we're willingly bringing them in - and a lot more.

I miss the good old days when everyone (most with no library cards) were up in arms about the gov having access to the books we borrowed. Now we put everything we do eat or think online.

Btw, they have been able to discover the identity of a person by cross referencing their cc statement with no name against Facebook. Just give up already, suzzer.

I don't think so

the reason the current set of olds can't adapt to technology is they didn't have it when they were young

it won't be the same when we're their age

If the singularity occurs technology will advance so quickly that nobody will be able to keep up with it.

You'll be an old. You won't pick it up as quick as if you learned when your brain was young and pliable, and grew up with it as second nature. The kids will mock you.
