This happened a few times and I ignored it.
The last time she did it I said "excuse me, I was here first" and she got defensive and said "my kids are in the car" with a tone that implied she was entitled to go to the front of the line. What pissed me off worse was that even after I said that, the guy ringing me out (store owner) proceeded to start getting her scratch offs. I left the sandwich on the counter and walked out, haven't been back since.
Maybe I overreacted, unsure.
I had something similar happen but it was at an Ice Cream stand.
They have multiple windows open, and there is a line for the next one. This old guy slinks around the corner just as a window opens and walks right up.
I said hey Old Man, the line is back here. He turned and saw the 10 people waiting and didn't move. So I repeated myself. At this point he did goto the end of the line, but talked **** the entire time he had to wait. LOL
