Especially during the pandemic it seems I wind up as the old guy sitting in the car while his wife goes inside somewhere. (Sometimes the roles are reversed, but it appears I get the longer stints.) It pisses me off when one of you guys pulls up next to me and thinks I'm just there to be creepy. And I sometimes feel obligated to turn down the radio while you get out of your cars. grr!

This reminds me of the brief period when game developers were trying to push Vietnam-themed games following the massive success of WWII shooters. None of of the games sold very well, because there isn't really a way to make the Vietnam War fun.

Some shitty app fighting game spent $5mil for a Super Bowl ad with Schwarzenegger a couple years ago. Those commercials were every where on TV too.

When watching a show or movie and they have a very obvious fake background.

You're spending millions to make a movie but you cant at least make an effort to make the trees or whatever background look at least somewhat realistic looking lol? Worst is the backgrounds they put up while they are shooting someone driving

Anyone else notice a trend of people being way more likely to speak at normal speaking volume and just speaking way more frequently in general at libraries? This is becoming more and more pronounced every year and I've noticed it across multiple libraries.

I felt like after covid many more people are talking in movie theaters now during the movie.

Maybe it's that inconsiderate people are more likely to be out in public? No data to back that up, just a guess; considerate people staying home, so the population that out has a higher percentage of inconsiderate (and thus are more noticeable)?

Anyway, today I'm out and see a plastic card on the ground. Has logos for our local school district a name and a number on it. Near the elementary school, so went up there hoping they could return it to the right person.

Upon arrival, doors are locked. Buzzed the intercom and told them why I was there. Entered a little lobby area, which had thick (maybe bulletproof?) glass with the little sliding tray for me to put the card in.

Pisses me off that we have to have that kind of security at an elementary school in suburbia. Guess that's the world we're in. Sigh.

I occasionally wander over to espn.com to read shitty articles. It pisses me off that I have to click on a dropdown menu to get to NCAAM BB. Their links to sports at the top of the homepage on 2/1 are NFL, NBA, Golf, Soccer, NHL, and NCAAF.
