I used to be one of the clever ****ers who only liked bigger dogs. I told my wife nothing under 30 lbs. Then we rescued a very little dog. His heart is the size of a grape but he still has more of it than most beasts that ever wandered the earth. His bones are thinner than well picked over chicken wings. Put your chin on the floor and you get his POV on the wide world, but he is dedicated to protect his pack. My family loves him and he loves us and I legit want to fight anyone who insults him. Lucky for most of those people, I’m also small. One day someone is going to get swarmed by my whole mini family, though, and it’s going to be a blood bath.

I grew up with little dogs and a couple of them laid down their lives protecting us kids from snakes. All hail the little dog!

Little dogs are pretty clearly superior imo. A 20lb dog gives you 100% of the good family dog things with much less food/hair/damage to wood floors/poop/damage to furniture/ability to main toddlers/likelihood to knock over grandma and break her hip.

Big/normal sized dogs are just flat worse unless you need them that large for some kind of work reason (they're pulling a sled, guarding a junkyard, etc)

My sister's Goldens are quite well trained but there's gonna be hair and slober all over lots of stuff. You're gonna get a lot more 'this place smells like dog' when you have like 4x mass of dog around for no good reason. The shih tzu and havenese dogs we grew up with are better in these regards with no disadvantages.

Knocking over grandma happened in the excitement of Christmas morning running from room to room. She was fine but that was a lucky break.

I witnessed the scratched wood floors in numerous houses that i looked at. What's the point of putting in a gorgeous cherry floor if it's gonna look like **** all the time because you have needlessly large dogs?

The only other large dog I have extensive experience with was my friend's rescue pit bull. He was cool but eventually mauled 3 joggers and had to be euthanized by court order. Oh, and he also once popped another friend's kickball leading to the end of a 10-year friendship between Pit Bull Girl and Kickball Girl if you guys remember that story.

Seriously though, why do people do this? ****ing gross. Im disgusted enough by my wife's indoor cat that refuses to kick the bucket. Can't even imagine having something like a golden retriever having free rein inside the house!

Ice cold tuna salad. So disgusting, especially with an ice cold piece of lettuce. So basically any pre-made tuna salad sandwich.

Nothing beats good albacore in oil, drained, on toasted bread. Add lettuce or whatever you want. Only the mayo and lettuce are refrigerated. So the sandwich is in balance and the right temp.

I make a pan-fried wheat pita, with tuna, mayo and capers. Delicious. I tried making the tuna part ahead of time so as not to stink up the work breakroom. Even though I toasted the pita, the ice cold tuna and mayo was a significant downgrade.

I hate how in military tv shows, movies and books they never tell you how many guys are fighting. They always say things like "we had two divisions against one whole battalion plus three platoons." I don't know what those words mean and I don't want to check wikipedia for how many soldiers are in a battalion every time.

When I went to med school I had to move my Samoyed to Dallas to live with my parents (which they were fine with) - great dog but (I assumed) as dumb as a stump. My 93 y/o grandmother had to stay with them for a couple of weeks for some reason, and we were scared to death that he'd knock her down and break her hip - he was a bouncy goofball.
Brought grandma home from the airport and inside - he walked over, sniffed her, eyed her for a bit and treated her like she was made of glass for the next two weeks. Never close to an issue - so I guess he was smarter than I thought.
