I think if you're at the beach or park or coming home from the beach it's perfectly acceptable. Pitter patting barefoot in dental offices is another story!

When I was in college I pretty much never wore shoes if it was over 50. Cafeteria required shoes so I kept a pair of flipflops in my backpack.

Alas, I have no knowledge of college life in the sixties. My time there was in the eighties same as you. My hair was pretty long, though. It was curly so kind of a modified big 'fro. Probably something like yours.

Driving on a two-lane state highway in BFE yesterday. An oversize load coming at me in the other lane. Carrying something cylindrical on its side, maybe a piece of silo or something, so the widest part stretched slightly into my lane, but probably 10 feet or more off the ground.

Pisses me off that I caught myself leaning to the right when we passed, as if that's going to make any difference at all should we happen to clip each other.

When you are showing someone something you are holding and they try to take it out of your hand so they can hold it themselves.

When you are showing someone something on your phone and they try to take your phone out of your hand and hold it themselves.

When someone uses an uncapped pen to point at things on your phone (Rapiniliterally always using the pointy side) and you are like don't do that because I don't want marks on my phone and they are like don't worry of course I would never actually touch the screen with the tip of the pen but you know they are a filthy liar and were definitely going to do just that until you told them to back off man.* It is a touch screen you idiot, use your damn finger if you absolutely have to. Don't use a ****ing pen!

*This is also applicable to laptop screens & computer monitors. Except in those cases, people consistently touch the screen wtf is wrong with people. Put a cap on your damn pen if you are going to do that. Better yet, don't ****ing do it and just use your goddamn words to describe where you want me to look. wtf is wrong with you. I spent quite a few years in tech companies where people are supposed to understand technology yet would consistently come across people who did this.


Seriously wtf is wrong with people who have to use an uncapped pen to point out stuff on computer screens and inevitably have to make physical contact with the pen and the screen and leave marks on it. How ****ing stupid do you have to be to do this. And it's not like they'd only do it to their co-workers' screens. I remember more than one person's screen being covered in tons of tiny blue/black dots because they would do it to their own screen nonstop. How do you manage to remember to even breathe when you are that dumb. I'd tell you not to have kids but we both know you already did.

Just watched the five dollar milkshake scene in pulp fiction and five dollars for a milkshake is a good deal now. It would have to be like $20 or more to make the same impact in that scene now and that means I’m old.

Reminds me of the $10 coke in total recall (Arnie version). That would still be pretty shocking today, so that balances things out.
