I blasted off all my money gambling. Took out 2k in payday loans to pay my bills. Went to work made $400. Woke up early and went to the casino. Got drunk. Lost $320. Went home. Passed out. Got up around 3 and thought, **** it go play your last $80. Hit the bar. My machine is out of service. Move over. Out of service. I look at the lady next to me. She says, they shut all the machines down. Why? They're closing all of the casinos at midnight. Oh... okay. lul

People are morons. Comment I overheard in work before we went into lockdown a month ago - "in this day and age you'd think they would have developed a vaccine by now". We'd only known about the disease for a few months.

Not learned necessarily because of covid obv but "successful people " are morons a lot of the time. As a kid I believed all these people must be smart to have gotten to this place in their life but after conversations you quickly realize they got there by means other than intelligence for sure.

I have learned that I am still incredibly naieve and people are worse scumbags than I thought.

Getting the inside scoop from my layoff and how the decisions were made. The company first considered anyone that had previously had any type of health issues or surgery's the last year(all olds), then chose anyone that was a smoker, and chose youngs that hadn't qualified for more vacation time to balance out the olds.

First they looked at potential medical cost.
Second at how much they could save in paying extra in the layoffs for vacation time. (I got cut 5days before I would have gotten an extra two weeks of pay)

It was all about money and not about health and well being of the employees. No execs offering to go without salary, but how much they could potentially save if someone got sick.

Learned I really like going out to eat at a restaurant, even more than I thought I did

I was eating way too much fast food.
I'm not a bad cook
I will start to clean up after being locked in the house over a month
I could just stop drinking since the bars aren't opened - hate drinking at home
I could learn how to play poker again post black friday
I don't like TV at all
Some people that lost a ton of money over this are much bigger cry babies than peeps that didn't have much to begin with.
I sleep like **** during a lock-down, gave up and just sleep in a series of naps
I can stay in the house and find stuff to do. I never tried just staying home before...lol
I'm not an essential worker though I'm lucky to have a work from home job
I can't handle big swings in the market anymore, moved assets to cash though I might play with some options in the future in a different account

I am shocked that i don't miss sports. I spent/wasted hours of every day following and thinking about sports and salary caps.

I am much stronger at cycling this year already because i just go out and ride my bike. My normal style of "ride 15 miles, stop and have a beer, go another 10 miles, stop and have a beer, go 10 miles back to first place and have beer, ride 15 miles home, cap off ride with beer." was holding me back. The more cardio i did the fatter i got.
