for some reason i have always connected New Slang to The Funeral. not exactly sure why because they were released years apart and i don't believe they were ever on the same soundtrack together (although i suppose The Funeral could have fit right in to the Garden State soundtrack). perhaps i can blame the Spotify or Pandora shuffle feature.
anywho, moms unexpectedly passed away a week or so ago and i've been listening to both pretty heavily since

That first Band of Horses album is ridiculously good, can fit in any rotation. We played it at my brother's funeral, one of his faves. Feel you on that one. Really sorry about your mom.
