i was also raised on R.E.M. (during the IRS years) and i approve of this message.
Murmur, Reckoning, Fables, Pageant, Document were a large part of my high school soundtrack. they started losing me with Green and it was solidified when they signed with Warner.

it's as if Pink Floyd, Radiohead, and Menomena had a bastard child.

i'm guessing you've heard at least a little something about Floyd and Radiohead, but if you aren't familiar with Menomena, here's a decent overview of how they sounded live. i recommend you look up their studio recordings if this interests you at all...i think they sounded much better in the studio.

I lost my only male cousin last week. I only met him twice. But both time were memorable. He was named Joseph after my grandfather. He lived in Chicago and underwent a double lung transplant a few years ago. He was a few older than me and always was some kind of weird idol to me in my memory of him. He was a parts manager at a big car dealership. ****. Anyway.... So sorry for all those that lost someone close to them recently. It hurts!

I have always enjoyed this song on youtube.
