In The Year 2525 by Zager and Evans. Not sure if it's so bad it's good, or just good.

Deserved, because Ariana Grande is so much better.

I'm ashamed to admit I crank this in the car whenever it comes on. I even shout out loud, "Mazel Tov!"

Ventura Highway has to qualify as an awful song, no? If so that's my pick.

I'd also like to note that I'm shocked we've made it 59 posts without someone saying Hootie and the Blowfish. If you include Hooties solo career they have about 8 songs that belong on this list.

Don't think Icona Pop's "I Love It" belongs itt, it's actually a good song

Proud that nobody's mentioned Eve 6 here. "Inside Out" might be the most incoherent song ever when you read the lyrics.

Quote:
I would swallow my pride,
I would choke on the rinds, but the lack thereof would leave me empty inside.
Swallow my doubt, turn it inside out,
Find nothing but faith in nothing.
want to put my tender
Heart in a blender,
Watch it spin round to a beautiful oblivion.
Rendezvous, and I'm through with you.

They're barely a step above Nickelback, if even that, but I can't help but like some songs by Shinedown, most notably Asking for It or The Crow and the Butterfly. Yuck - I feel gross.

(actual song starts like 1 minute in) I have listened to this song a lot more than I care to admit

I think the main embarrassment for me is the number of times I will listen to a song on repeat...

No, it's not. Here are the lyrics:

I got this feeling on the summer day when you were gone
I crashed my car into the bridge, I watched, I let it burn
I threw your **** into a bag and pushed it down the stairs
I crashed my car into the bridge
I don't care, I love it, I don't care
I got this feeling on the summer day when you were gone
I crashed my car into the bridge, I watched, I let it burn
I threw your **** into a bag and pushed it down the stairs
I crashed my car into the bridge
I don't care, I love it, I don't care
You're on a different road, I'm in the milky way
You want me down on earth, but I am up in space
You're so damn hard to please, we gotta kill this switch
You're from the 70's, but I'm a 90's *****
I love it, I love it
I got this feeling on the summer day when you were gone

I mean, I don't mind goofy or silly lyrics, but these people didn't even ****ing try! It's like they chose to record lyrics they happened to hear on the way to the studio.

I love this song! And I enjoy trying to sing all the lyrics in the chorus without running out of breath. IT's impossible.

right, because the best way to determine a pop song's goodness is by analyzing the written lyrics.

lol olds, go listen to the Beetles or something

In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines
So we sailed up to the sun
Till we found a sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves
In our yellow submarine

We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

And our friends are all aboard
Many more of them live next door
And the band begins to play

We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

(Full speed ahead Mr. Boatswain, full speed ahead
Full speed ahead it is, Sergeant.
Cut the cable, drop the cable
Aye, Sir, aye
Captain, captain)…

Now there, there are some SENSIBLE and OBJECTIVELY GOOD lyrics

FULL SPEED AHEAD MR BOATSWAIN

GENIUS

Dom,

They don't care! And love it!

Plus this is just the English version. It loses a lot of the deeper nuanced lyrical composition in their native Swedish language version.

Of course it is. Steve Allen proved that to be true in the 1950s

Also no.

I will argue that Verve Pipe's "Freshmen" is actually good, though ruined by being overplayed, though.
