Nigiri is what you should always be ordering at a sushi place. If you only get one thing, make it nigiri. If the place has bad nigiri, then they have bad fish, and you shouldn’t be there.

may i suggest a different way of thinking about things?
perhaps your 'trash food' trip could happen a few hours before Kabuto, and consider it to be a snack to tide you over. it's kinda like prepping before you go out on a date with Mary

kabuto really isn't outrageously expensive and it's absolutely mouth watering amazing

I'm not some sushi snob I'll happily grub on a pre-packaged ca roll from trader joes but kabuto is legit one of the most amazing meals ever and would probably be my last meal if I had my choice.

not wanting to experience it because you don't think you'll get full enough is insane.
