Just had an Omakase service at Sushi Sho in Stockholm. Highly recommend if you're in Stockholm for whatever reason.

Here are some pictures of the food!

I frequented an AYCE place that was pretty solid for years. They eventually closed, but have opened up again with basically the same people/product. I stopped by today to check status, as they don't even really have any web presence yet. They are still takeout only. Decided to bring home a couple sushi entrees of the simple stuff, straight to the dome. Was very happy with the quality.

27 and Tibertius excellent pics. Obviously there’s a gourmet difference to them, but, very interested in both.

I need to try a real nice, expensive omakase experience, I’ve never done it.

Real solid takeout, love how they don't skimp on the simple rolls, lotta tuna and salmon in there

It's a completely different experience. In a good Omakase you get so good service from the chefs. As well as super-fresh fish which can't be beat.

Also, the Omakase by itself wasn't that expensive. It was about $75 per person. With Sake pairing, the total bill was <$250 for both me and my SO.

not sure where the quality of Kabuto is these days, but it was amazing ~3 years ago when spouse and i splurged.

Soy-cured egg yolk together with marinated tuna, scallions, fresh aspargus, topped with roasted rice.
This looks INSANE, Tiburtius!

When I say I’m going to try an omakase here, that’s the only place I really plan on trying first.

My wife and I had the Yoroi and then ordered some extra pieces of nigiri that we thought were particularly good. I thought the Kabuto had the chance of being too much food and don't like mixing in too many cooked items with sushi (though the cooked items are small, it's not like you're eating a whole bowl of udon or anything).

gto kabuto strategy is to get the full omakase on your first ever visit, then step down to yoroi + a la carte nigiri on subsequent visits

elite strategy is to time your visit for blackberry apertif sake

ultra elite strategy is to time your visit for triangle

there is one additional final tier strategy but none of you are cleared for it. probably shouldn't have even told you about the ultra elite strategy tbh, may need to edit this post to delete that

spouse went Yoroi, i went full Kabuto. in the middle of the service they gave us opportunity to order a la carte nigiri (essentially providing an opportunity get seconds of the things we already had and liked, but of course you can try other things as well). the grill items, like everything else, were great.

Mal, you're probably better off only getting one omakase and ordering the rest a la carte like Chop suggested. haven't done the math but i think it will be easier on the wallet.

when you make the reservation (and you have to), request a seat at the bar.
