Using this recipe for the meat, but storebought frozen buns. The belly has been curing since yesterday, so I won't get the full 48 hours, but should still be good. I still have some beignet dough in the fridge, so will fry some of those up as well.

4x burger turtles, each one weighing 1.75lbs.

I'll do maple mustard glazed hotdogs with the leftover hot dogs and this will satiate me as I watch the 9ers hopefully go 6-0 in superbowls! GOLD RUSSSSSSH!

I've got a pot of the Deadspin chili on the stove bubbling away.

I made a Super Bowl pie because it's always a good time for pie.

One of these days I'll figure out how to make a super flaky crust that still remains flexible enough for me to mold it without it breaking up on me. The eggwash seemed to fix some of the more egregious cracks, though.

Blackberry, cranberry, and pear.

Results: a little on the sweet side for me, but decent.

Someone brought those to the party I was at, definitely very good. Baked instead of grilled, though.

Didn't take any pics but my friend had a pretty nice spread at his place. Wings, pulled pork sliders, 7-layer dip, veggie tray/dip, Chick-fil-A nuggets w/sauce, cookies, purple cupcakes, brownies (both regular and special).

Wings, obviously, but I'm going to try this recipe this time. I'll probably do the prep mid-week some time just so there's more time to focus on other menu items on game day.

I am definitely doing the wings and balls again. I was also thinking about doing something with salmon, given that I'm a Seahawks fan. And now I'm tempted to add either the baconolis or the bacon rings.

Working on chili. Only started playing around with making chili about a month ago. Probably make a crock pot or 3 of some variation of this this week to figure out how I want to do it.

1 lb ground beef
1 lb loose spicy sausage
1/2 lb bacon
1 yellow onion, chopped
1/2 large red bell pepper
1/2 large green bell pepper
2-5 Jalapeno pepper
1-3 Serrano pepper
4oz ketchup
Large can diced tomatos
4tbsp chili powder
salt + pepper

I usually add beans when making it for myself, but since this will be for a group I'll probably exclude them. Totally understand why people don't like beans in their chili.

Planning on making nachos. Has to be chicken for whatever reason, so I'm going to marinate chicken thighs (paprika, cumin, oregano, garlic, lime juice, olive oil) and either roast or grill them, then chop them up.

Cheese is always a dilemma: grated and baked with the chips, or a gooey cheese sauce poured on at the end? This year it will be both. The sauce will be a bechamel base with beer, grated cheddar, and canned chipotles. And the grated will be a mix of cheddar and jack.

So it will be the grated cheeses, pickled jalapenos, and salsa baked with the chips for 10 minutes. Then chopped chicken, guac, sour cream, and cheese sauce at the end before serving.

MrWookie: salmon skin in place of bacon in some of those things could be good.

Add cumin, hold the ketchup, and I'd recommend putting beans in anyway.
