true, thats why i said chicken wings and ribs in my OP.

But, now that I think about it, this is a lot of stuff to eat with your hands, and is on the lower end fo the meat to work ratio, maybe I should do some pulled pork and chicken wings..

Going to a bar for the Super Bowl sucks, having it at someones house with a nice TV and a solid spread is +EV IMO.

I've made those wings at least 3 times in the last year.

I'd suggest the overnight sit in the rub.

last time i made wings i tried a few sriracha honey wings. they were as good, maybe better, than the buffalo sauce ones.

Chili recipe stolen from VR in another forum:

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef
3/4 pound beef sirloin, cubed
1 (14.5 ounce) can peeled and diced
tomatoes with juice
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle dark beer
1 cup strong brewed coffee
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
1 (14 ounce) can beef broth
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa
powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon salt
4 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans
4 fresh hot chile peppers, seeded and
chopped

1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook onions, garlic, ground beef and cubed sirloin in oil for 10 minutes, or until the meat is well browned and the onions are tender.
2. Mix in the diced tomatoes with juice, dark beer, coffee, tomato paste and beef broth. Season with brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, cocoa powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, coriander and salt. Stir in 2 cans of the beans and hot chile peppers. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
3. Stir in the 2 remaining cans of beans, and simmer for another 30 minutes.

To make it in the crockpot, she should brown the onions, garlic, and beef first like in the recipe, then put them in the crockpot and add all the ingredients except the beans and let it simmer until about an hour before she wants to serve it, then stir in the beans (not separately like on the stovetop).

I usually use less sugar in this (try 1/4 cup at first, then taste it when you add the beans and see if you want a bit more), and I've made it with all ground beef and it's still delicious, but the cubed beef is a nice touch for a party. Hang on and I'll dig up the chicken chili recipe.

Yeah, I've made them a few times, too, although usually with chicken thighs instead of wings so I can just eat them for dinner. Extremely good.

These went over wonderfully for the last Super Bowl. I'd suggest doubling the recipe, though. They go quickly.

1 cup apricot preserves
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and finely chopped (try poblano if you're worried about spiciness)
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
12 medium size or 6 large sausages*
12 slices bacon

*One slice of bacon should cover the link when wound end to end. For dinner-size sausages, use 2 pieces of bacon. In a medium bowl, stir together the apricot preserves, jalapenos, and cayenne. Set aside.

Cut a deep slit lengthwise into each of the sausages without cutting all the way through. Spread some of the apricot mixture into the slit of each sausage. Wind a strip of bacon around the sausages and transfer them to a broiler pan. Bake them in a preheated 375° oven until the sausages are heated through and the bacon is crisp, about 20 minutes. Broil the sausages for the last few minutes of cooking, if desired. Cut each sausage into 3-6 equal pieces; spear with a pick and serve warm.

Do you fry the thighs as well or just let them finish in the oven?

Fry them

for people that have made the sriracha wings: is frying a must, or do they turn out good just in the oven. I def prefer fried wings, but its less hassle in the oven just before the game while trying to entertain people.

- 2 boxes of wings in freezer (thanks wook, good one on the recipe)

- chicken and cheese stuffed bacon wrapped jalapenos

- jerky for 4am (remember it starts 11pm here)

- chips and 7-layer dip

others are making other things.

Was thinking (remember I'm a Euro, guys) about getting a crate of Dixie in rather than (ugh) Bud. Wook, others, how does that rate? Better hooch recommendations? Any Indianan breweries I may be able to access in the UK?

EDIT: made bacon rings for the masses last year btw, and pulled pork, hence neither of those on the menu this year.

We're doing pulled pork sandwiches with slaw, bbq wings & 7-layer.

Siracha & honey wings sound dope.
