I've decided to try Superbowl US style and will use some of the things in this thread. It's a little bit different when you live in Sweden since the game starts at midnight and finishes up at 4-5. We will have some people over that will probably leave before the game even starts. The Sriracha chicken wings, the pigs in a blanket with a mustard dip and an American cocktail sauce. Nacho chips with cheese with salsa and guacamole. Earlier in the day we will eat hamburgers and fries.

I've also stocked up on a few different items that are not standard in Sweden but can be found in the US section of a supermarket. Ben and Jerry's Phish Food, Dr.Pepper, Mt. Dew, Root beer, Cherry and Vanilla Coke, Beef Jerky etc. Basically trying out different US-y things that you see referenced in say sitcoms.

Just finished prepping my bacon/sausagemeat cheese roll. Here's it finished - 2' long by 3" diameter. Will take 3hrs to cook I reckon.

If people want pics of the prep, just ask.

I'm going to a party, don't really know the menu.

Probably going to bring the easiest tasty appetizer I can think of. Club cracker, parmesan cheese, wrapped in bacon and baked. So good.

Might make a batch of guacamole too if I get motivated.

Pics below of: warp and weft (warp is unsmoked bacon, weft smoked)

Adding the sausagemeat

Top with Baconnaise as lubricant

Pile of 1lb cheddar cheese on it.

Cross section of the ends (it was too long to chill in my fridge, sadly).

Will grab a snap of the cooked product tonight after its 3hrs of cooking.

Seems likes it won't cook well since grease can't escape

just got this recipe from a friend who always brings it. instead of canned chicken, i'm using some herb roasted chicken from earlier in the week. i'll try to post something later.

Quote:
Chicken Dip

1 package of Philadelphia cream cheese - the box

Franks Red hot - buy the big bottle

1 stick of margarine

1 can of chicken - large size - next to the tuna fish - make sure you buy chicken

1 packet of Mexican cheese - in the diary section

buy a 3 pack of pie plates in the bakery section - aluminium throw away plates.

Thats it

Now

Take the phili cheese and line the bottom and sides of the aluminium pan

take out a frying pan, throw it on the range, put the stove on a 7 or 8

in the pan combine, 1/2 a cup of franks, the contents of the chicken in a can and one stick of butter / margarine

mush up the chicken so it's in pieces and not chucks

stir it all up

now -

pour all the pan contents in the aluminium pan that is lined with Philly cheese

spread it out

open the package of cheese and empty it in the pan, spread it out

now

stick it in the oven and bake at 350 for 30 mins

dab the cheese grease with a per towel when done

your good to go

good luck
this stuff is ridiculous.

I've made this before for a party as well as a similar version from the label on a bottle of Franks that is all mixed together. Definitely use some other type of chicken than canned and try serving with chunks of celery as well as the standard chips/crackers/whatever.

I've got country ribs in the crock pot. Added a packet of instant spiced cider to the sauce this time.

Also making a carrot and rasin slaw.

Put maple syrup in regular mustard. Instead of honey mustard you end up with maple mustard.

So I'm making Sriracha wing recipe. Question about preparation - the party I'm going to is about 45 minutes away. Is it best to fully cook and toss the wings beforehand and just re-heat when desired, or to cook there, bringing the marinated wings and prepared sauce? Or something like cook partially and finish cooking there?
