If they save the calendars for enough years they will repeat themselves. I know people who have done that (mainly great-depression survivors).

For example, in 2011 you can re-use your 2005, 1994, 1983, 1977, 1966, 1955, 1949, 1938, 1927, 1921, 1910, or 1898 calendars without having to buy a new one.

Even though I would never ask guests for money at a party, at college aged BBQ's it isn't that uncommon for everyone to pitch in 10 bucks or w/e for food and beer.

LOOOOL!!

"Calendars tend to repeat themselves so you can use this service to find which years share the same calendar dates. By doing so, you can reuse an old calendar, or save the current year's calendar for later on."

I wonder why you know of this site!

No problem: our yearly calendar has a 28-year cycle. For example, if you received a calendar from 2009 this year, you would not be able to use it THIS year. But in 2037, it would become useful again. You would simply take a magic marker, cross out the "09" in "2009", and write in "37".

Keeping an outdated calendar for 27 years just so you'll get to use it: now THAT'S stingy.

That means, if you start collecting from 10yo, when you get 37, you wont have to buy calendar never again!!!

You can save like..........MILLIONS !!!!

I know a guy who used to throw shopping carts down a hill and collect them at the end of the day, take them back to his shack and fix them. Then he would sell them to another grocery store, I think he did this for a living.

This.

The school tried to think up every humanly possible way to try to try to cut back on food wasting. First small cups, then removing trays and getting rid of self-service. They also had a big display that was supposed to represent of the amount of food people threw away everyday. Not sure how much it affected a bunch of hungover undergrads shuffling into the food court for breakfast at 1 PM.

Sorry to get off the topic of the thread.

ive never actually witnessed this because and i was a small child at that time but we had restaurant in our town and the word was that the old women who owned it with her husband was seen refilling the winebottles with what customers left in their glasses.
beside the fact that its pretty disgusting i also think that is pretty stingy.
of course i dont know if it was true but there were several similar stories about that woman.

They would probably mix them together to create their own "homemade" wine.

Exactly where are these magic coupons that get me 98% off? And when you have 2,000 cans of soup in your garage (or whatever), you should be over on A&E's Hoarders.

THE MORE YOU SPEND THE MORE YOU SAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can buy a $1,000 t-shirt for $100 and BOOM $900 right in your pocket.

Watched this. was pretty interesting IMO. those people have an illness for sure but if you hunt around you can definitely find such deals, e.g., some store sells a candy bar 2/$1 and you have a coupon for $.50/2 but the store doubles coupons. free candy. the difference is the ppl in the show would collect 100 coupons and get 200 candy bars.

now apply this to soap, tp, deodorant, toothbrushes, cereal, etc. Not so crazy to think you could save quite a bit off your total bill if you had the time, patience, and desire.

I have a family member that spends a couple hours every day entering contests online to win prizes. It's sweet when I get them as gifts or whatever but he's also really stringy. He's done the take a popcorn bag out of the garbage to get a free refill and whenever I tell him I bought something or did something his first question is always "oh how much did that cost?".
