There's an old thread here about a guy who won $X million and decided not to tell barely any of his friends/family because he wanted to keep the relationships happy. He already had comfortable money, though, which made it easier to hide.
But I'm sure if you won the lotto there would be a nevger-ending stream of ppl looking for handouts or for you to "invest" in some ******ed business idea, and then they'd be all bitter when you don't share a lot with them.
I never understood why so many ppl think just because someone gets a massive windfall that they should share it with a lot of ppl.
Wife has a ridic rich uncle who came into tons of unearned cash and we never asked for a penny and we don't expect anything when he dies. It's sort of sad, really, because he's estranged from the rest of the family. It's his money and he can do what he wants with it.
