i dunno, who gives a ****. yeah poker chips are dirty, but tbh i really wouldn't care that one was in my soda briefly. even if it was free i would just drink it to save the hassle of flagging down the chick and waiting for the replacement.

Most of the rants in this thread are not about anything stingy, but people just doing everyday smart things to save money.

There is a tipping thread that is also on the first page... Anyway, it depends on how attentive the waiter is, but as long as you don't leave me without a re-fill on my drink and take my plates in a timely manner, they'll get 15-20%

LOL.

If you're going to throw chum in the water like that try to be more subtle.

I'm like 90% sure Organicgreen is Chinese, and 95% sure he's a level, so I'm like ~85% sure that post is trollbait.

Me and a friend have been to a lot of 21st birthday bar crawls, and he hardly ever buys the birthday guy/girl a drink. Maybe one drink if they're lucky. Then afterwards, he complains about how expensive it is to go to all these bar crawls, when me and another friend usually buy several drinks and pay way more to make up for his stinginess. Starting to make me angry a little...

obv the right play is to tell her to keep the chip in the old drink when she brings the new drink

Does anyone else flip over and use the other side of their swiffer clothes before throwing it out?

I'm pretty sure stingy people use old clothes to wash their floors, not overpriced novelty cleaning products.

My parents definitely save old socks with holes and ripped shirts and whatnot to use as cleaning rags. I don't find that to be particularly stingy.

Don't they realize that getting a few thousand dollars in any of these ways will more than compensate for several lifetimes' worth of this nickel and dime BS? Apparently they don't see the inconsistency.
In other words, penny wise, pound foolish.

Still true. Same policy in the US too.

If you rounded to $100 why was there $0.53 in change???

Wow .... super tiptarding if true... Not tipping when you are getting free drinks?!?

Was at an open bar party last year and the first thing I did was hand the bartender a $20. When the bar was crowded he would see my walking up and hand me my drink before he made others that were standing around the bar -- without me even having to ask. Later in the evening I was sitting around with friends and had finished my drink, but hadn't gotten up for a refill yet -- the party had died down a bit and he walked by and placed a full drink on the table for me.

Same thing at weddings -- people generally don't tip well (or at all) or just a buck at a time... Tip $20 at the beginning and be nice and they'll remember you and you'll have good drinks all night!!

I rent out mobile home lots.

Have to evict people for not paying/being *******s.

After being evicted, and his lot sitting empty for 2+ months, dude comes back and steals a $4 water spigot, leaving water gushing out of the pipe, tells neighbors it was his spigot.

edit: i would have gave him a new spigot if he wanted it to avoid having to screw in a new one while water was on. (forgot where cutoff was)
