Not being a complete ****ing mongoloid I can type in an angry way without actually being angry. I guess it's hard to comprehend that if you're missing chromosomes.
Most people figure out the tip based on the pre-tax cost of the bill. Some even subtract the cost of any alcohol on the bill and tip on that at a reduced rate.
But it's ok, when I made my post with the $100 comparison, I fully expected some moran to come in and talk about how the utility of $100 is different for the guy with almost no money and the billionaire. When it didn't happen, I was pleasantly surprised.
Now, I get some other moran telling me that the tax rate doesn't affect the level of a tip, but on a $85 bill, there would be some level of tax, no? But yeah, it's fine and dandy to say that it's a stupid assumption. Maybe the stupid assumption is that the $85 was the cost of the bill without any tax?
