Iraze is cool. I mean....There are things for which I do spend more money than average, but it is definitely not some crappy food/drinks at a concert.

I don't know..... I think the question is how to maximize quality of life with given resources (time/money/energy....). And it is a lot more worth for me that I don't even think about medical bills or utilities or buying organic food or basically anything that is important in my value system, than to pay 15 Euros for popcorn and a coke at the movies.

That said, I think that if for you it is a part of movie experience, like you have to have it or your movie night will be spoiled, you should totally go for it. You pay then this 15 Euros not for the coke and popcorn, but for the experience, for good feeling. And that is definitely worth it.

I have no issues with Iraze. I know people who are happy to take alcohol into venues etc. It's just not for me but I pointed out my hypocrisy in regards to the cinema where I will happily take a packet of lollies not purchased there and munch away. Everyone has their line in the sand.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. Iraze started this escalation but he also stayed at the Venetian for two months so he can't not be totally uncool.

So let me understand:

Someone paying $12 for a beer that cost the company $1 = rube

Someone paying $10,000 for hotel room that cost the company, what, $1000 = not rube

Cheap is when you can easily afford something but choose a different option that costs less because you don't want to spend the money. It is a financial decision, whether you rationalize it with other personal stances or not. Being cheap is purely for personal financial gain and does not necessarily harm another party in any way.

Stingy is when you withhold an asset (not necessarily money) because you are an *******. It can be food, money, physical help, time, etc. Stingy indicates that you are interacting with another party who would benefit if you were not stingy.

Obviously there is some overlap between the two.
