He also would use more than a loaf of bread a day, and a tub of margarine and a packet of coffee every 3 days (NOT EXAGGERATING). The margarine was plastered on like cake icing.

He also signed me up to pay half of a $80/week storage unit , to store his and the MIL's stuff, since they couldn't be bothered putting it tidily in our garage. Even after I realized what had happened and cancelled the storage, it actually turned out that the board they paid came to significantly less than even the power and food they used, let alone any charge for the room.

To top that all off, he then went and bought a 50 inch TV and mounted it on the wall in their room.

We probably lost about $9000 over the 2.5 years having them there. I was pretty angry about this, but didn't bring it up because the wife knew that he would rant at her mother about it and didn't want that to happen.

Anyway, they finally move out and our power bills return to $150-$200 a month.

Now here's the fun bit. We had to go and stay with them for a week while our house had earthquake repair work done.

First of all, the order was given that if their powerbill increased at all, then we pay the difference above its usual value.

Secondly, when we get there, we find there's no food. We actually have to buy food so that the mother-in-law can eat, not to mention ourselves. (Yes - we feed him when he lived with us, and we feed him when we live with him).

He's working 70 hours a week, but it's all going on paying off a credit card rather than feeding his family. The MIL's wages have to pay off his credit card as well. Never mind that their combined income is more than mine is (and I'm feeding two kids as well)

Also, we have to buy all the food for the Christmas dinner.

Did I mention that there's three 24-packs of beer in the fridge though?
why were you not asking them to split the electric bill?

Well, where do I start.

When they first moved in, we agreed on a weekly figure that would work out to be splitting the food and bills (rather than split each bill as it comes in). This went OK until a few months in, he got busted for drink driving and lost his job, so had to get a worse job and just started paying $100/wk less . He'd already committed to making large repayments on some finance loan and didn't want to reorganize those payments.

I couldn't kick them out as then the mother in law would have nowhere to go and the wife would get upset

Yeah. The wife didn't want me to say anything and I'm somewhat whipped in that regard. Lesson learned now though

Because that would just be somebody else's spot. All the non reserved spots were taken so I had to take somebody's spot. There was no way for me to know who would be using their spot that night so I just parked in the closest one.

The correct play is to leave a note on your own car saying "sorry, someone parked in my spot, so I had to park somewhere. Call me at XXX-XXXX if you can't find someone else's spot to use."

Or double park behind the guy who stole yours.

park away from that guy and then slash his tires. stalk out the lot until you see him walk out to his car and get furious. then you calmly walk to your car and say "man thats usually where i park, to think that could have been me!" and take off

Doubt it. I've seen the same thing happen. People are weird about parking. (and parking in apartment complexes that are perpetually full is a giant pain in the ass).

My roommate in college wanted to unplug every appliance when we weren't using it since appliances use electricity even when they're off supposedly. He even wanted to unplug the TV and plug it back in every time.

Seriously, you asked for this. You are enabling this douchebag to get away with his douchebaggery.

Now it's time to confront him with a bill for $9000.

IDK, if I am more pissed at you or the POS. You do deserve everything that happened after month 1 of them staying with you.

Naturally she was excited to meet such a well known super athlete, and im assuming she thought she was going to get "paid". The night went as planned and there were no major problems as I have been told. She collects payment (assuming credit card) and goes to process and looks to see that Tiger Woods himself has left her a $10 tip on an $85 dinner. I can only imagine how disappointed she must have been. My friend told me she cried over it lol We all got a laugh from it though.

That may seem like somewhat of a standard tip, but seems quite frugal when you are one of the wealthiest global athletes ever. This was long before anyone knew how much of a tool he was.
Not to bring back something that wasn't already discussed several times over, but I was reading an article on foxsports website today about Tiger and it made me laugh and think of this thread/post in particular.

Quote:
Woods would finish his dinner at a restaurant — even when he was with his wife, Elin — he'd get up, leave without a word and expect everyone to follow, even if they were still eating.

"When he was done — and he habitually ate fast — you were done," Haney recalls.

And whenever they got takeout, Haney would have to pick up the food — and the tab. "He seemed to think it was funny to be cheap."
