In the case of sundried tomato (I still don't understand why he would need to STEAL a plastic cup from a bar to get apple cider from a grocery store, but I am willing to overlook that).... He is ABSOLUTELY STEALING from a bar that is specifically putting those plastic cups out for smokers (again I don't know why but these are his words not mine). So yes the cups are practically worthless but the fact is he is still stealing, and also taking advantage of both the bar and the smokers those cups are supposed to help.

Just a basic scumbag move just like the rest of his examples.
You are missing the main aspect. The plastic cups are a minor part of the stinginess. The main thing is the extent they went through to avoid buying drinks at the bar. Stealing a penny to be stingy over a several dollars would mean the stinginess overshadows the theft by a large margin.

My grandfather used to bake bread for the family to keep himself busy. One week he visited with no bread and my mother questioned it, he was like, 'flour is too expensive'. He also used to sit, aged 84, in his house with no heating in December (he lived near Scotland)

When he died he left my parents 100k in cash.

Guy I know who is 25 or so lives with his parents. They are the types that will do some ridiculous things to save a few pennies at most.

One of these things is not flushing the toilet after they poop, because they are trying to save money on water.

He was washing his face, and placed his glasses on the bathroom counter. He accidentally knocked his glasses off the counter into the toilet. Just so happens his mom took a **** about 30 minutes before, and he didn't notice to flush it. Don't know if he ever used those glasses again or not.

100k to live off of for an unknown amount of time is not really that much. If he lives another 5 years, wtf does he do? Or can he just live off the govt?

He had a government pension which he lived off. Plus another 5 years for a man in his 80s with no mortgage or other outgoings, 100k is more than enough.

If he actually used the glasses instead of buying new ones, I'd argue that he's at least as stingy as his parents.

When I was a kid, my friend's parents were ridiculously stingy. They didn't keep any toilet paper in the washroom. When you had to use the facilities, you'd have to ask his parents for some toiler paper beforehand. They'd ask you if you were going "Number 1 or Number 2?". You'd get two squares of toilet paper for number 2. Girls would get 1 square for number 1 (boys were expected to tap dry).

I eventually started running home to use the washroom, rather than having to beg for toilet paper. I was terrified that I'd have a particularly messy **** where two measly squares would not be sufficient.

It's just ****. It washes off. I'd imagine you don't throw away a pair of shoes just because you step in dog ****. Glasses will wash off. It's not like they were even covered in it I'd imagine. Maybe I'm immune to being grossed out by it after having a kid.

True, but I don't wear my shoes on my face.

I think that whenver I went to put on my glasses that the image of them being happily perched on one of my mom's turds would immediately pop into my brain. It would be worth the cost of a new pair of glasses for that visual to be erased from my memory.

I was on a hostel a couple of years ago and traveling with a guy and a girl. When we arrived at our room for the night, the girl really needed to take a crap. Unfortunately for her, this was one of those bring-your-own toilet paper hostels, and none of us had brought any. There was a convenience store across the street that was still open, and selling toilet paper rolls for the equivalent of $1.25 U.S. Despite this fact, she used all 3 of our provided bath towels for wipes.

Edit: Wow didn't realize that toilet paper would already be mentioned on this page. Still, it was the stingiest thing I've ever seen. I felt bad for the hostel staff that had to clean those things.

Easily enough to dry the ass after washing with water.

I'm not sure if this is being stingy or just being a lazy bitch. Having to cross the street seems like the biggest drawback as opposed to the $1.25.

Totally standard for like 95% of people that stay in hostels.

Not flushing the toilet is the cool thing to do. Toilet flushes account for something like 20-30% of domestic water use. The people I know that do that usually flush ***** though, and its not to save money.
