Last story is more poverty than frugality innit?

This might not be technically be stingy but is definitely worth a mention.
I met a girl from Singapore who came to the UK on her birthday to visit me and stay for 2 weeks. she ended up turning up with almost no money and I had booked lots of things to do so am getting screwed in more ways than one. One night while waiting for a restaurant to open we go for a game of Bingo in the hall close by for a laugh, long story short I pay and she ends up winning £300 which I am happy about as now she has some cash.
As we are leaving I start to play one of the fruit machines in the hall I run out of cash and ask for a £10 note which I say I will give her back when I get to a ATM. I end up hitting the Jackpot which is £100 and take the coins over to get notes before we leave. as I collect my notes I hand her the £10 back and she looks at me like I'm ******ed and goes into a mood, I am completely confused then she ends up saying she is entitled to half my £100 because she lent me £10 of the cash which I lent her the money to win in the first place.
Needless to say I tell her she is Bat**** crazy and realize that I have a nutcase staying with me. Asian chicks can be pretty crazy and she acted like butter wouldn't melt.

Kenny,

Ha, ha. Seriously tilting story. Still it could be worse, she could have been coming to visit for 2 months! At least you know now fairly early on what she is like.

When Santa was throwing out candy, a guy grabbed one right from the grasp of a little kid going for the same one.

I never tip when they bring by the water bottles during a tournament and think it's redic to do so.

Why do you think tipping is rediculous, MLYLT? I'll check back in a few days for your response.

I don't think all tipping is rediculous, just tipping $1 for a person the wsop is paying to hand out free water during the tournaments. Almost every guy is giving her $1 and the water isn't even worth that much! It's just stupid.

I do believe in tipping for good service. I got my first massage from one of the massage girls while playing poker because my janked shoulder was killing me. She did awesome and I tipped her $5.

But, it men want to be idiots and throw money away I'm gonna apply to be a water girl and make 3x my current hourly.

M,

You also said 10% is in your standard range for restaurant tips, so it’s not exactly a stretch to put you squarely in the stingy category.

How long was and how much did the massage cost where you shelled out that whopping $5 tip?

Goal #1: bikini body.
Goal #2: cocktail waitress @ casino.

Remember that reaching goal #1 is a prerequisite for reaching goal #2 though.

7mins.....dang it was a $6 tip. I just gave her a $20. I was in severe pain before and non after, money well spent.

El D,

And 10% is a bit much, how in the hell did 20% become the norm?

The average meal is $40 with 2 people. At 10%, $4/30mins. If they have the normal 4 tables, that's $16/30mins or $32/hr in addition to their base.

So you think waiters should be making about $70/hr?

M,

As usual, crack engineer caliber logic and analysis from you.

Try actually thinking something through just a tiny bit before posting.

Spelling words correctly is rediculous and a needless conservation of characters at times.

A few times per year I go to Red Sox games with my boss, who has season tickets and usually there are colleagues or clients with us. On one occasion there two boys (10-12 years old) sitting in the row in front of us and they were eating chicken fingers, which were on a paper receptacle.

They finish eating and put their discarded food & receptacle on the ground. Fenway btw is super tight and always super crowded. People go by between innings repeatedly.

9th inning comes along and my boss tap's the shoulder of one of the kids and asks the kid if they are going to finish their chicken tenders.

Kid confirms that they're done but hesitantly says he's sorry but he put the food on the ground.

My boss says, "Yes I know, that's okay, can I have it?" The little kid, with a disgusted look on his face, picks up the food and hands it to my boss.

Boss looks at me and says "It's perfectly fine, I've been keeping an eye on it. Do you want one?"

Let me add that I get paid pretty darn well and my boss gets paid waaaaaaaay more than I do.
