"my friend is so stingy, he car-jacked a bentley"

that's not an example of stinginess, that's an example of theft.

being a broke student and stealing 2$ worth of headache tablets is hardly comparable.

stealing other peoples drinks when they go for a smoke, probably deserves a beating, not going to defend myself there.

the smoking area trick is the epitome of innocent enough stinginess.

why didn't you just put the headache tabs in your pocket? why bother to pay for some and steal others?

sundried tomato is the newest member of this thread that deserves the "scumbag thief" undertitle.

Yep, drunkenly nabbing other peoples drinks is pretty scummy. Not something I'd do again, but don't think it warrants a 'scum' engraving on my grave.

No theft was involved in the smoking area trick.

This one guy I knew used to go to bars to pick up chicks, but was too cheap to pay for drinks. So he'd try to take them to 7-11 to drink, then go back to the clubs. When he could get one to come home with him, he'd have to take them to the 5th floor apt that didn't have an elevator. If they somehow survived that march, his apt didn't even have a toilet, just a hole in the ground. Sometimes they'd demand money for sex, so he'd just stiff them.

Some friends of mine were staying at two different hotels (1 dude in hotel A and 3 dudes in B), the guy staying at hotel A had two breakfast tickets because he was staying at "double room", one of the other guys wanted to buy the second ticket and offered half of the face value.

"Nope, I want full face value or I'll rip it", and when the other guys declined he actually ripped the leftover coupons.

In the case of sundried tomato (I still don't understand why he would need to STEAL a plastic cup from a bar to get apple cider from a grocery store, but I am willing to overlook that).... He is ABSOLUTELY STEALING from a bar that is specifically putting those plastic cups out for smokers (again I don't know why but these are his words not mine). So yes the cups are practically worthless but the fact is he is still stealing, and also taking advantage of both the bar and the smokers those cups are supposed to help.

Just a basic scumbag move just like the rest of his examples.

To clarify, once filled with cider, we'd return to the bar and enjoy our drinks in the pleasant bar environment (as opposed to a park bench/street corner) without having to shell out for the bar drinks.

They designate plastic cups for smokers because you're not allowed to take glasses outside. One reason being, people might steal the glasses, whereas they could care less about the plastic cups.

This I see as stingy and the stealing smokers drinks is scummy. Don't really need to defend myself. I think I have a pretty good track record when it comes to not stealing/being a scumbag. I bet you could find something scummier you've done that get drunk and finish someone else's drink.

overall I'm more annoyed you can't distinguish between could and couldn't care less than you stealing or not.
