Oh, it is going to go for much more than that. Clapton's guitar auctioned for $960K in 2004(?) with basically the same estimate. At the time, the highest priced guitar at auction.

I'm guessing $500-600K.

The more interesting guitar is the Stratocaster with serial number 0001. It probably isn't really the first but that serial number gives it the sizzle. I'd imagine that will be well north of a million even though the vintage guitar market has cooled over the last few years.

I didn't realize that you're a Brit. I grew up in Washington State and was stationed in England in the early 90s. Listening to other Americans ***** about the rain always puzzled me. Now when I go back (to either one) I also get sick of rain.

Where in GB are you from originally?

I was in Norfolk, right near the Norfolk/Suffolk/Cambridgeshire county lines, at RAF Mildenhall. I've spent a bit of time in Yorkshire, but basically none in the west.
