No, he was aware of how it went so there were no secrets. They go way back, this guy is also family albeit a bit further down and he has been hanging out at their house for her whole life pretty much.

She just felt like she had to reach out personally to make sure there were no hard feelings, when everyone in this story is not being kind of an ******* its a move I would applaud, reaching out to people to keep talking/the dialogue alive instead of it becoming some ****ty thing where people stop communicating.
