Pretty definitively not. Here is the mission control broadcast announcing that they lost the center core:

It's not just a huge success story for space exploration, it's also one of the greatest marketing gimmicks in history.

Elon said the core hit the water at 300 mph lol. He is hoping the cameras on the drone ship captured the impact because it would be cool footage

Apparently the restart fluid ran out for the center core, so only 1 of needed 3 engines relit for the landing and it didn't go well.

Snagged from twitter...

Here's a simulation of the latest orbital data for Elon's Tesla:

Simulation of the current orbital data for the Roadster: 0.99 x 1.71 AU x 1.1 deg C3 = 12.0, passes orbit of Mars July 2018, aphelion November 2018

Mars is about 1.5 AU, so it's orbit exceeds Mars orbit by about .21 AU. Earth is 1 AU from the Sun.

The simulator shows the Tesla Roadster making a close pass by the Earth of about 17 LD (LD = distance from earth to the moon) in 2029... I didn't look beyond that date.

FE people must be scratching their heads on this one

Truly inspiring stuff, the main video 21:40 30:00 33:30 shown to a couple friends who had no idea this even happened, blew their minds especially the landing of the boosters
