Size comparison of Starship to other rockets... Weird to see it looking down on a Saturn V.

Less max payload?
Edit: but reusable?

Correct. Elon said last week that Starship could currently lift 150 metric tons in expendable mode. He said with further optimization this number could rise to 250 tons.

Lol i always imagine spacex/tesla engineers reactions when Elon comes out with stuff like this. Seems like more often than not it's extremely wishful thinking

I'm going with 10% excitement for getting to make some cool stuff, 90% horror when you realise there's a crazy deadline and no one has any idea how to do it.

I would agree when Elon is talking about self-driving Teslas. However, this is exactly what happened as the Falcon 9 walked down the maturity curve.

The Raptor 2 engine is already a huge improvement over the Raptor 1. Just wait for the Raptor 5, 6...

Everyday Astronauts tour of Starbase with Elon is really interesting to listen to:

The final part of the Elon interview has been uploaded by Everyday Astronaut. It's takes place at the SpaceX launch site with some of it videoed ON the Orbital Launch Pad. Another super interesting segment. Pretty interesting listening to Elon talk with his staff.

Part 3

there is a podcast that does a series about what a scammer he is. they hate elon, but do kind of admire his amazing ability to scam and pull **** off

one story from the early days of tesla. they didn't have the ability to make any cars. so elon just took a mercedes and made it look like a tesla car and put it on stage and said it was a tesla! lol! then he got like a billionty dollars in funding

https://soundcloud.com/trueanonpod

this link is for all their episodes. you have to scroll down a bit to "the lamest show on earth" those are the elon episodes.

I will check that out at some point, ty, but yeah he is the king of all scammers. And you gotta repect his ability to manipulate entire populations. His poster should be up in every boiler room in Nigeria

Astra launches from Kodiak Alaska. Awhile ago Astra had funding issues but I think they were resolved but I don't really know any details. I know they have at least one more rocket.

I think they got some DOD money for these test launches since they use a mobile launch platform which would interest certain people. Time to recreate the launch in ksp
