440 out of how many though? Seems astonishingly high, and reckless of him to insist on keeping it open. Don't have to be a hater to realize or point out this obvious fact.

you say "lock him up" as a joke. but he blatantly broke the law causing hundreds of people to catch covid directly. and who knows how many people they infected. why did he break the law and cause all these people to get sick and die? so he could open his factories and make teslas. he didn't need the money.

Around 450 of the roughly 10,000 workers at Tesla's Fremont, California, factory tested positive for COVID-19 from May to December, The Washington Post reported Friday.

fremont ca is in alameda county, population 1.7 million. it's had 82,189 cases total, for the whole year.

elon's employee numbers are just from may to december.

i couldn't even imagine opening the factory, whether the govt ordered me to close it or not. seriously, what was he thinking? why did he need to open the factory?

iirc he made something like 50 billion dollars over the last year. he wanted to make more money, so he forced his workers to go to work and risk covid or lose their jobs???

That's like 5% right? I'm generally a fan of Elon and think he's a massive net positive for humanity but I was a much bigger fan before I started following him on twitter and his covid posting was a great example of just how stupid a really smart person can be if they put their mind to it.

It might be happening! However, the Thursday weather report is sucky.

Current plan is to do a Starship SN11 static fire tomorrow (Friday) morning and a test flight in the late afternoon.

Good luck SN11!!!

Static fire is done. Boca Chica residents are evacuated. Looking good for a launch today. I'm guessing flight around 6pm-7pm EDT. I could be off a few hours.

RIP SN11...

I have no proof other than a giant bang, *pause* and then debris starts to hit a distant (!!!!) camera.

Hehe, there is a debate going on right now if during the landing burn, did SN11 experience a catastrophic failure or did the Flight Termination System activate? I'm currently leaning on the FTS being activated but insiders at SpaceX supposedly say it wasn't.

People have put crazy amounts of work into trying to figure it out. Check out this tweet:

Well done video documenting the SN11 launch and umm "landing". You can sort of see the glowing fireball and explosion.

Bit of a divergence from topic, but any space(flight) related podcasts you recommend? I normally catch main engine cutoff, but anything else would be interesting

SN15 basically a totally different craft so should go better in theory. Not sure if they have the gas thrusters in it yet to make the belly flop to standing maneuver without the crazy over correction the raptors need to do to even get close to landing it.
