This is ridiculous. You are either a liar, or need to play your music to people who aren't absolutely crazy. MFATGG are fun, but that's it.

Ben Folds cover of Inbetween Days is pretty good too and it's actually a true cover this time. I don't rate it better than the original but it's good enough to mention I think:

I like Me First and the Gimme Gimme's. Them doing a cover of Neil Diamond or whoever is always a blast. But that doesn't make it better than the original. Just a really fun gimmick is all.

I love Fiona and it's a good cover but "better than the original?"

Vedder covering Bob Dylan: No.
Korn covering Pink Floyd: No.
DMB Long Black Veil cover beats Johnny Cash or The Band? Heeeeell no.

SRV cover of Little Wing is awesome. That's one of my favorite Hendrix songs.

And I actually do like the cover of Baby Got Back by Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine better than the original. I laugh every freaking time but it's actually not JUST tongue-in-cheek silliness because there's some serious talent there too.

Yeah, they sound like a tight band from what I've heard and they are really going for it all the way.

Another awesome cover of voodoo chile(the other version) is Buddy Guy playing it here.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKzMJrQ3uqk

I saw Buddy play live about a minute of slight return and it was amazing.

ya, he's great. was it just part of those medleys he does? i've seen him a
fair bit. sometimes it's frustrating because you just want him to do more or
all of the songs he's touching on.

Nice!!! I saw Buddy years ago and he played a gig in a downtown bar (the old Coq D'or in Toronto) and then when the bar closed took it out on the street. The looks on the faces of passers by gawking at this large black dude just waiiiiling on his guitar was priceless!!!

Jesus Christ this has to be a level. Of course, hardcore DMB fans can be pretty ******ed. By far the worst post in this thread. Congrats.

Yeah it was one oh his medleys and I agree its unfortunate we don't get to hear more of these songs. He takes a Hendrix song and manages to make it sound even more psychedelic. He's just so damn talented and its a shame more people don't know about him.

I've seen him twice, the last being two years ago, and even in his 70's he stillputs on amazing show. Both times he has walked through the crowd for ten minutes while playing an extended guitar solo. That show in Toronto sounds amazing and I would have liked to have been there.

One example that absolutely does not belong in this thread:

Mayer's cover of Free Fallin'. I couldn't sleep the night I first heard it.
