So You Have A Button...

If you push this button, a random person in the world (not you) will die a sudden death. This is completely untraceable. When you press this button, a magical bundle of cash will appear in front of you. Or in your bank account. Whatever. It will be legit.

How much cash does it take for you to push the button?

An interesting follow-up question is "How many times do you press the button," but for the scope of the poll, assume that the button may only be pressed once. Then, it disappears.

we've done this before. but i think the price was set at $10million and the question asked how many times you would press it if you did. what i learned from that thread was that there are a lot of sick people in this world :[

I couldn't have even waited for the other thread, I guess I, like a lot of people, have some sort of sick obsession with this topic.

I actually remember this scenario from High School...school assembly, speaker prompts the question. One of my friends makes a motion of pushing the button many times, people near him crack up.

A better question would have been

"you have been told under no circumstances should you push the button".

nothing else - no idea what could happen.

This adds the frisson of WANTING TO KNOW.
