I also can not stand blue cheese. I guess it's just not for McMuffin.

Cougar Gold keeps getting mentioned. I’ve never heard of it but looked it up and it’s some sort of canned cheese. Is it legitimately good or are people making a joke because it’s terrible?

From Wiki:

Quote:
In 1993, the American Cheese Society awarded Cougar Gold with a blue ribbon, and in 1995, the cheese earned the United States Cheese Champion silver medal. Cougar Gold later received a silver medal at the 2000 World Cheese Awards and a gold medal at the 2006 World Cheese Awards.

You can get it at https://cougarcheese.wsu.edu/.

I haven't ever let a tin age really, not for more than a month anyway. The site says that the average Cougar Gold tin they sell is 14-months aged though.

I like blue cheese with buffalo wings, crumbled on salads, and on burgers

If you cant take blue cheese straight.

1. Try a high quality blue cheese, such as a Colston Bassett Stilton.

2. Try a mild blue cheese such as Cornish Blue. This is a great cheese, dont let the mild tag fool you into the asusmption of not much flavour.

3. Try the cheese with a quince jelly such as Membrillo.

The cheese thread seems like an appropriate place to note the passing Anne Saxelby. She was a very nice woman and had a huge impact in promoting artisanal American cheese producers. She was only 40.

I get the extra sharp cheddar, but it sure ruins you for all the other cheddar.

Edit: Oh yeah and I smoked your mom's gouda last night!

I'm in my 30s and not an 80 year old at a retirement home, but I enjoy the occasional cottage cheese with cantaloupe or blueberries.

Also shocked nobody went here yet>

the only way i eat cottage cheese is to mix it with equal parts salsa, blend it in a food processor, and eat it with chips or veggie sticks

Downing a few spoonfuls of cottage cheese late at night, while looking through the fridge for something to eat, is a special kind of place to be.

Toss it back with a few pickles and you got it Jish. Maybe run through a spoon of PB on the way out of the kitchen.

I'd swap in some salsa for the pickles and PB.

Chips and salsa, pickles, are some of my favorite foods, but I just want some chunky cottage cheese curds with some fruit.

While good cottage cheese is great, bad cottage cheese can turn me off of it for a year or two. My go-to is jalapenos, hot sauce, and s&p on a cup or two. Nice brotein bomb.

Also gotta go full fat. That runny **** is what gives cottage cheese a bad name.
