That seems so crazy. Do you know how much it costs just to feed a dog for years? Plus if you leave it in a cage, it pisses and ****s in it's cage which gets pretty ugly pretty quickly. Someone then has to clean the cage and the dog without getting bitten. So the better solution is to take the dog on regular walks so that it goes to the bathroom outside. But someone still has to get it out of it's cage, get it's muzzle on, walk it, pick up its poo, return to cage, take muzzle off, put back in cage, etc. It's a ton of work. Plus all the vet bills.

Also, if you keep a dog in a cage it's entire life, it'll go crazy. Dogs need plenty of exercise and wouldn't do well alone in the cage for the majority of their life.

Olmpic skier Lindsey Vaughn just had to get stitches because she broke up a fight between her dogs over a frisbee. Maybe someone who knows more about dogs can identify the breed:

stitches not the biggest deal. kind of feel like i should make the most sexist/overly general statement that women aren't the best dog owners. roles often get reversed as to who the master is. prob why single women always want big dogs...replace the man in their life...jst sayin

I kinda agree with Ace here. If a pitbull eats a kid and the owner is a woman, the dog should get a pass.

How much pitbull should be allowed in a mixed breed before we decide that dog cannot breed?

Just to piss of the people who think black people=pit bulls is a good comparison, I'd go with 1 drop of blood standard.

A girl I know is adopting a formerly abused red nose pitbull. She also has a cat. This should end well.

I have two pitbulls and too many cats living in this house. I only read the last page of the thread, but I'm surprised. I thought poker players tended to be fair minded logical people.

Edit: read first page, and poll results: Nevermind, carry on.

Sadly, didn't work.

The good news is that my wife now realized how useless all those cats were, so we won't get any more.

you have to train the cats to look your pits in the eyes when they eat

Let's say, for the sake of the argument, that all dogs are equally likely to go berzerk. When dogs go into attack mode, some can do much more damage than others. If a lab loses it, maybe it does x damage. My yorkie maybe 0.2x damage. Pitbull? Say 3x damage. Pitbulls, per unit, are a much greater risk.

What is the added reward of owning a pitbull vs a lab that justifies that risk? I mean if you were to be fair minded and logical. Please quantify for me what a pitbull provides you with that a shepherd can't.
