I'm thinking of getting two upper ear piercings on my left ear and a right eyebrow piercing. I've never done anything like this before, is this a good idea?

Why? We need both primary reasons and any underlying subconscious reasons to make a qualified judgement.

I can't really explain why, but I've always kinda wanted an eyebrow piercing, but I am clearly too old for one now, so do it. Do it for me.

I always thought with this stuff that it depends on your general appearance. If you're decent looking and in good shape, tattoos and piercing can be a good look, but if you're a pasty face dough boy, it would look silly.

In college I thought I was a badass and got both ears pierced, the cartilage in one and my eyebrow. I looked like a flaming homosexual. DO NOT DO IT. I guarantee in a couple years you'll want to go back and burn any picture where these hideous piercings turn up. Just get a tattoo, then you won't ever need to get a piercing.

I always wanted one tbh but with job first as a lawyer and now as a government official its obv not a possibility. I had my nipples pierced maybe 6 years ago and still have 1 in today and don't regret it at all. Sometimes I wish I had gone a different course in life (blue collar job etc.) so that I could get pierced/tatted up at will.

Why people get tattoos, piercings, or even a pair of new shoes or expensive jeans it is usually one of or combination of things:

Expression: This really defines me as a person/conveys my message
Self-worth: I will be cooler/funnier/more noticable
Attractiveness: Think of all teh azz this will get me
Image: I want to project the impression of "x," which may or not be true
Peer acceptance: All my friends have tattoos/piercings

Of all these really I only think Expression is a legitimate reason although Attractiveness has its arguments. I think for me personally my desires for piercing/tats (which I for the most part have not acted on) is a mix of Expression and Self-Worth motivations.

Edit: plus the rush of the piercing process itself.
