It seems if one is willing to make obscure references when they post, they should not be surprised when no one 'Gets it'.

I reference 1981-1984 SNL skits all the time and no one gets them since Lorne has effectively erased them from existence since he wasn't the producer. They're now starting to show up online so I guess in his old age he's softened.

for much of my adult life i was communicating in various foreign languages

despite knowing only 10 or so words, i'd try to demonstrate my sharp wit by making a joke or pun in their language which is devastatingly hilarious when auto translated in your head into english

this was my literal life
