loser rematches and makes the first move. if for whatever reason you win and hit rematch (you forgot, or you know your opponent has too many going to start it themselves, or if you want to ensure another game is played), pass it across.

I would assume going first is an advantage for 2 reasons:
You can play a Bingo if you have it without worrying about playing off their play
and
If your tiles are **** then you can upgrade your starting tiles without leaving yourself wide open

I always figured it was the opposite. We really should come to a 2p2 agreement on this.

Also I think first one to end the game should rematch. It's simpler that way.

Everyone else weigh in please.

Doesn't matter to me and I've never considered it. I start if I want to play and I expect the other person to start if they want to play. I won't get offended if I get a decline.

As for who goes first...I prefer to go second and usually pass/swap if I have first move.

actually haha i guess lately i do rematch every time i end the game, simply because i'm playing regular opponents who i assume want to continue. but yeah if i win i always pass across.

been meaning to post this for a while. i was initially going to post it as a 'anything else i could have done here?' thing, then for a bit of fun i decided to edit the screenshot to remove my move. don't study the pic too hard or you'll probably see where it was. anyway :

i trail 432-399 and have A, U, BLANK left. i ended up finding a 16pt word and winning by one. maybe this is really easy, maybe there are better moves, whatever, here it is :

also sorry if the person reading this sees it haha. it sorta sucks to have your games written about imo.

Yeah, I always do this, with 2p2ers and IRL friends too. And I never pass if I'm the one starting the game, doesn't matter if I won or lost the last one.

I always assumed it was up to the loser to decide whether they wanted a rematch or not. However, I can see the reasoning for thinking the opposite (having the winner go first).

i am playing so many games that i lose track of the rematches and who goes first and all that.

so if im supposed to pass or something and i go first im not doing it on purpose.

I don't think they're saying that you're supposed to pass if you go first; they're saying they prefer to pass or swap to prevent setting their opponent up for an easy triple letter, etc.

If I lose but go out first, I start a rematch and pass my turn.

Same here, I just start up a new game if I made the last move. I don't pass either, but I usually just do some two letter word, or swap tiles if they suck.

Chimer(a) would be like 13 points just by itself.

But it doesn't have the additional value of ending the game and subtracting points from your opponent's score.

Thoughts on using as few of letters as possible for your opening play (you are first to act) when starting a match?

I tend to play a word like AE where I can (unless I can play a 7-letter word)?

I'm playing nutshot, mulls24 if you want to practice

I can't really think of any great tips. Both lifelines I always choose inspiration since the others are pretty useless. For the first minute I go around the corners of the board then I start using the lifelines. Obviously in the later rounds I start with the DW and TW. That helps in case I missed some word chains in my initial search.

Scores depend a lot on the board. Sometimes in the first round I'll get over 400 but others I feel 250 is a good score. Even more variance in the later rounds.
