I'll see what I can come up with

I'll add two more columns for this

Alright, made the following changes:

1. Top 10 now has option for "Current Season" and "All Time" if you select "All Time" it will highlight any games that are from the current season

2. Player List now has extra columns for "Current Season"

I think avg score should use weighted results from past seasons to help counteract one or two fluke high scoring seasons but to give more weight to the recent ones that more accurately reflect skill level. Maybe last 4 like:

40-30-20-10 is best (ie 40% of last seasons avg, 30% of 2 seasons ago etc). Anything over 4 seasons old should just be ignored since virtually everyone is a different player every two months.

Using overall is just pointless because anyone who played when they weren't that good who improves a lot will always have an absurdly low figure.

Pretty sure that's not happening any time soon, i'll think about it.

So when are you guys going to implement a USCF style rating system?

Does anyone have any tips for reducing lag on iPhone, specifically iPhone 4? It's been really bad for me this session, with like several hiccups every game where I can't do anything, although it's not always this bad and I'm wondering what's causing the difference.

I was thinking about this but I wouldn't even know where to begin. If you can give me a breakdown of how to calculate it etc then I'll see what I can do

Does killing programs running in the background do anything to help?

If only we had an International Master lurking among us... he might have an idea.

I try this and it's inconclusive, things eventually get better but it's not like an immediate clear difference. I almost always have a bunch of apps open and a lot of times it's fine but other times it's bad even if I'm on a strong wifi connection.

I have plenty of lag too, cost of doing business. Just hope it woks out. Also making a rating system should be super super easy. Could come up with one V quickly, but seems like the 10 group system is enough. To have ratings on top of that feels mostly redundant

Hi can somebody help jelloshaha log in with a password? He's having issues logging in. But I'm able to see him in my tryouts list. Thx.

yeah right, sure you're not!

people should be aware that Gaduee is like 18/19 years old too...just started playing scramble earlier last year and is already in group 1. Sure he's not a genius boy...

Holy crap, I've been looking through the games in my division of other players and there are SO MANY games that are within like 50 or less of each other. Talk about evenly matched! No wonder my 60% is currently #1.

It's definitely incredibly impressive, but I feel like being younger (18-25) would help more than it hurts, since your mind works faster when you're younger. Or at least mine did lol. Us 30-somethings are at an inherent disadvantage. :P You also probably have 95+% of your functional vocabulary by 18-20 (though that's not strictly relevant for this game since it's basically memorization and pattern recognition; most folks don't know the meaning of many of their Scramble words and wouldn't be able to use them in a setence).

I thought Bacamarte being as good as he is after 9 months was crazy (and it is), but for Gaduee to be that good after a year or less is insane.

Talking about close matches, I had a win against idunlikemyuser by only 1 point!! That's just too crazy haha

Gaduee is really skilled indeed! I am glad I beat him once a long time ago, because nowadays it's not possible for me to do it anymore! Chris, you are a very good player! I know it's been hard this season, but I also had a low winning percentage when I first got placed in group 2. I improved a bit this season and I think you will get better with time too!

i've been using freeze/inspiration for as long as i can remember. is this a leak? should i be moving up to 2x freeze?

I generally use freeze/freeze going 2nd in round 1. Otherwise I use freeze/vision unless I am down by a bunch, then I use freeze/freeze. Using inspiration is a pretty big leak IMO.

just had one the those mythical short freezes.

Hit freeze and vision at the same time. freeze ended as soon as the vision words had been displayed.

GRRRR ARGH!

vision gives you no "good" words though for the later rounds, it's all 4 and 5 letter words afaik
