Has anyone ever gotten a 9-letter word that covers both triple word scores? That would be awesome.

I've gotten a couple words in the 110s. It's possible to get a lot higher with multi-way combinations, but I haven't heard of any yet.

Thanks for the replies guys, I think I agree. I've read a lot of this thread, but definitely not all 5 pages and didn't see it mentioned.

FWIW, this situation was further complicated by the game being against my wife who I wasn't even sure would notice the fact that I definitely had a bingo after a non-swap pass, plus I figured the S was versatile enough that I'd be able to drop it regardless.

It turns out I was at least partially right. She later told me that she didn't realize I had a bingo until after my second pass.

Oh well, lesson learned.

Fun strategy if it's late and you have no play and like 4 'I's - swap them all so you're opponent will get them.

Anyone looking for a game SN is BigRock294...

...I generally try and have ~20 games going though its been tough since most of my friends are terribad and after a couple games say its no fun to play me anymore... my simple goals in the game are to always score over 400 and if I can hold opponent under 300, and I play all the time because I get bored at work

i used to do that passing ****, but then i realised that if someone passes to you and you're ahead you can just pass it back thereby forcing them to play or lose the game.

Ill often pass to the winner if I start or just to change it up to open, but I will also pass because many people cant open with a bingo and will just get a random ~20 pts if they hit the double and I can feed off the TL, or parallel to their word with a better score etc...

... I do get a lot of WTF did you pass for to open from my friends, not sure if its optimal but I have a good win rate.

oh that's another complaint about WWF, going first seems like a giant disadvantage - a friend of mine will basically exchange any time he can't hit the DW on the first turn

I'm talking about late when the game is close and you have crap letters and say there are 4 letters left. It's nice to swap your 4 IIIIs knowing you will get some good letters and they will get the crap. If they pass it back you presumably have much better letters now.

I do this too. I never play less than 5.

I rarely open with a 5 letter word, especially it I have to was a 4 pt tile or more... I'd rather play a 3 point word leaving the vowel on the center so they need a 6 letter word to hit the double and I can hit a TL or double up a DL space... Not sure if +ev but it works, i often drop 20+ pt 2 letter plays without opening board up

yeah im not really convinced that opening w/ a 5 letter dws is even that good or gamechanging, especially if you put a consonant in line with the two tls's, because they can usually just three letter you and be close to even

I actually open up the board a lot more because I'm not playing for money and it's fun to make big words. I will play a defensive cluster**** game with some dude if he really wants. But if playing with a girl or guy who doesn't care much about that I just open it up and try to avoid setting up anything really easy for them. Cluster**** games just aren't that much fun imo.

Agreed, all depends who I am playing... If its a super competitive person talking **** I'll just outplay them defensively until they **** up of I can... It is more fun to play monster words etc but winning anyway possible sans cheating I'm ok with

Yeah cluster****s can be fun too. I really enjoyed playing tiger here for like 48 points. I think Jin was the only word connected.

what's the proper strategy when you have a 8 or 10pt tile(X,J, or Z)? should you play it as soon as you have an available word or try to hold it for when you can get at one of the bonus tiles?

It's too bad this game is so easy to cheat at. Would be a blast to play for $$.

WWF is nearly entirely determined by how much of a multiplier you can get for your >8 point tiles. If you aren't getting at least 30 points from them, not worth it imo.

yep, this only changes at very endgame with like 7 tiles in the bag and you have a J or something that is going to be very difficult to play. If you see an 'O' lying open drop that asap

you could probably play live for money. just pass the phone back and forth between you and whoever. I guess at that point why not just play scrabble though.

I'm pretty addicted to this game and I need more people to play with. add me username: deucedeuces

I play on Facebook, iPad and iPhone. I feel really hamstrung on the phone. I like to be able to see the whole field and easily move stuff around, play with different combinations etc.

Also on the PC you can enter a word, see if it's good, then decide if you want to submit it or not. That's a different flow than the devices where you have to submit first and if it's good the word goes through. I use that a lot. Although you can usually make at least one word on the phone you know is bad so it won't go through. But I've been wrong and had them go through before.

The downside to the PC version is all the constant hassling to post achievements to your wall and post stuff to your friends' walls.

I recently pulled this with "ywis". Apparently, it's an alternative spelling of "iwis" which means "certainly".

By the way, regarding seeing the whole field, you know you can do this on iPhone by double tapping the board right?
