optimal playstyle is to play extremely blocky while moving with tempo (planning ur next couple general moves)

you should play CON here, you need to eliminate the TW, keep the draw for QAT/QUA for instance

if anyone wants to cheat the most current and best anagrammer to use is "Zarf" (free)

anyone who play me plz feel free to cheat

is that a simulator or just an anagrammer?

i remember coming across a web based WWF sim after finding out quackle can't customize correctly but don't remember where.

to the poker folks, reviewing your game in a sim is the scrabble equivalent of going through pt/hm after a session and will make you better in a hurry

Looking to start some games. I think I'm good in terms of overall strategy, but suck with wordage etc. I win alot and avg. like 370-430 but against mediocre competition, so wanna play some good players.

Simple question: I´m late to everything, so I don´t know this game

is it the same as SCRABBLE? (haven´t read the thread yet, just wondering)

pretty much yes, although the board is different in terms of bonus tiles (WWF=higher scoring) and the letter values vary slightly and i think there are two more tiles in WWF...oh and bingoes are worth 35 not 50

dropped JEUX with the UX alongside a DI, with the J on a triple word and an X on triple letter for 140, biggest drop in my weak wwf career

I've been playing this for a couple of years and doing very well against friends, though they aren't too competitive. I'd imagine two plus two'ers would be a good challenge and put me back in my place. Anyone honest (it's pretty easy to spot the cheaters) want to play? SN: frase

This chick I play against at work consistently scores 390+.

Odds she's cheating?

She doesn't seem like the type, but from my limited knowledge of the game (just started playing, I'm behind the times on this) it seems her average is crazy high.

That's not unreasonable, especially if she is playing randoms/weak players. I play with this girl that is terrible and put up ~500 pretty regularly.

Yeah, the average scores for this game will always be higher than for Scrabble, even with the reduced bingo bonus (due to more/higher point tiles, convenient placement of TL/TW squares in line with each other, etc.) A defensive game between two skilled players might be played in the low 300s, but against a bad player who just plays through existing words without regard for what they're leaving open, it's very easy to top 500, and 600+ scores aren't unheard of.

I'm not any good yet, just started today. Won my first 3 but were all against seemingly weak opponents. Amarq09 if you want to show off. I could use some pointers.

just started playing - god the scoring system in WWF is so tilting. i had a spot where i probably should not have played a bingo because it set up a triple word/triple letter spot. that's pretty terrible tbh

That happens all the time.

If you leave open vowels next to a TL square without regard for available big-scoring tiles, you do so at your own risk.

WWF doesn't know rimjobs. I coulda had triple word and triple letter on J.

I agree the strategy totally changes in when you can try words and there's no penalty for being wrong. Also being able to lay words on the board and play with them visually is a big help.

Btw my second and third games I got a blank and used 7 letters first play. Is that fairly common if you get a blank?

right but i am complaining because my best play was probably not to lay down my 55 point bingo that left an A in the triple triple lane with most of the premium tiles out there. in scrabble i can't really think of a situation where you would intentionally not play a playable bingo.

Yeah, I got that, and it's just a function of the scoring system.

I've probably played ~300 games so far, and have let bingos goat least 7 or 8 times. It's just not worth 45-50 points when you open up the easy TL/TW combo.

An interesting (to me, anyway) dynamic about that is when you have an opportunity to play a relatively low-scoring bingo in proximity to both TW squares. What you're really doing is hoping that bingo + one TW is significantly better than your opponent's seemingly inevitable TW.

What's the most you can possibly score with one 8-letter word (so assuming a bingo but no cross-scores)?

Dunno if this is right (probably not) I just did a search for words containing q and z, and "mezquits" looks pretty sexy. If you build it across the TW/TL/DW row, it's, what, 294 + 35 = 329?

i'm occasionally scoring 400+ vs a few friends but still haven't had a bingo and i've been playing for over 6 months i'd say.

btw for those on iphone who are jailbroken, there is a hack available that lets you play any words, starting games with randoms then dropping ridiculous words doesn't get old.

android port of this game is so much worse than iphone.

Actually in Scrabble this situation comes up relatively frequently, as strategy is getting more advanced it's becoming more and more prevalent. That said, the board design in WWF is beyond awful. Usually it's correct to not open those TL-TW spots up because of the potential burn. If you're playing correctly you should spend most of the time ****ing around in the middle waiting for someone to open up a Dw-dw or a triple somehow, or until you get a solid bingo.

am lolling so hard playing randoms, about to drop some 8 letter word with 1 vowel, across a TW and DW with both a Q and Z, one of which on a TL.
