My rule of thumb on if ppl are cheating is to see sustained ridiculous words, especially if they are in uber tactical spots like cutting through three other words and/or lots of obscure bingoes.

Ectopia is pretty obscure, its not an every day word, but its not some Victorian word that hasnt been in common use for three generations or really really obscure technical word and i instantly assumed what it would be about as ive seen/heard the term ectopic pregnancy a bunch of times before.

Been playing it for a few hours after deciding to give it a spin. It could do with an indicator of how many points a potential move is worth and a way to search for words in the WWF dictionary, but its a decent Scrabble clone.

I can easily see myself getting to the word ectopia just playing around with letters.

"bromance" is now an official word in mirriam-webster. How long before it makes its way into WWF?

for the facebook version, does anyone else have a bug where clicking the play button doesn't result in the popup box coming up? I restarted the app and no luck. fwiw the pass button still works and it doesn't occur in all of the games where its by turn.

The regular Scrabble board results in much more interesting games than the Words with Friends board. You have to play way too conservatively due to the landmines of Triple Letter+Triple Word scores on the edge of the board.

Felt better than it probably should

Knowing the all-consonant list is a must. It's not a huge list, but it's great to get you out of trouble when your rack sucks. Off the top of my head: BRR, BRRR, SH, SHH, PFFT, CWM, CRWTH, NTH, TSK, TSKTSK, HM, HMM.

*Disclaimer...these are all good in Scrabble, not sure about WWF. I know someone told me NTH didn't work a while back, but that may have changed.
