wow. first read of this thread. glad somebody kept bumping it.

i like the wiki thing, btw. but i definitely understand not ****ing with wiki. it is a pretty useful tool and you wouldn't want to **** with the integrity of something like that, lest it's not reliable when YOU want to use it.

i think you should poop on the lathe. or on his pillow. i think he might get the message.

Have you considered removing the lathe from the living room yourself when he's not around, throwing it in some dump somewhere miles from your apartment, and then playing dumb about its disappearance?

Obviously it's kind of a dick move, but this guy clearly has it coming.

In case you haven't noticed, on each post there is a date and time stamp on each post. Also it helps to actually read the threads you are responding to.

Especially this one, since it might be the Best one in OOT history!

A lathe is a metaphysical symbol representing the intrusion of modern industrialism on man and his relationship with Mother Gaea.

This thread should be prescribed as a means of healing depression. These threads are seriously what I live for when it comes to 2p2.

I am so far behind in this forum I will never catch up. Good thread though. What ever happened to OP?

But it really is a wood-working lathe, so I don't see how that is vandalizing wiki.

Damn, I thought I had a stroke of genius when, two years after having read the thread, it suddenly popped into my head that this image would be really gangster on wikipedia.

I'm gonna go back to work on my transportation device that doesn't use polygonal wheels, so there's less obstruction as it rolls along the ground. I'm gonna make millions!

Kind of weird this classic thread only has 3 pages in it (that's at 100 posts per page you noobs who haven't figured that out yet). Makes one wonder how many people have not enjoyed the ultimate lathe thread. I don't even think I could hear the word 'lathe' in casual conversation without cracking up. Thankfully, I don't think I've ever had that word come up in casual conversation. I need to hang out with more shop teachers or something.

Yeah, I was talking to my neighbor about woodworking a while back and he said "I'm really thinking about buying a lathe," and I just laughed for several minutes. The guy seriously thinks I'm mental or something now.

It also reminds me that I was at a craft fair last year and some dudes were making these little ho-haas (I forget exactly what) and they had a mini-tabletop version of this same lathe. Same Brand, everything. I have a pic on my old cell... maybe I can find it.

Quality bump.

It makes me happy to know that I don't have roommates but sad that I don't have a lathe in my living room or anywhere else in my house for that matter. Really sad.

Why are people still trying to fix the OPs lathe problem. OP probably hasn't seen the roommate in 2 years.
