I was proofreading a new manual at work when I ran across this chapter heading and almost peed myself:

"Section C-5.2: Hypothetical Lathe Example"

Sadly, the example did not pertain to living room installation.

Thanks for the bump, this is the first time i've seen this thread.

But that is a nice lathe, I can see why he bought it. The cast iron stand and large motor will appeal more to the professional or committed hobby turner who is looking for a rugged and powerful machine.

seriously. it's unhealthy to have sawdust in your living space like that. your snot will be a mixture of fine dust and boogers.

also, it probably pulls enough juice to blow a fuse with anything else running on the same breaker (like the TV). it's a giant fail if he was hoping to watch TV and lathe at the same time -- they cancelled all the good lathe-related shows.
