Conan O'Brien just put out a great new podcast with Andy Richter and Frank Smiley praising Norm.

RIP Norm.

One of his funniest videos was when he was on Conans last show as the tonight show host. Norm shows up with a gift basket.

Top five in my book. His Netflix special from 2018 shows he was still at the top of the game.

So true. His bit about Janice (the missing woman), which led into his discussion of how he would go about being a serial killer, was hilarious for word choice and delivery. And it's a topic that doesn't immediately come to mind as a source of humor, but somehow he does it.

After decades of not appreciating Norm or really paying much attention to him at all, this story opened my eyes and had me laughing so hard, I've spent countless hours ever since listening or watching anything with Norm in it.

This is so damn funny imo:

Thanks that gave me a feel for it. My little brother had nominated it for his funniest joke ever for some reason. He was probably wasted listening to it.

Of course I don't know for sure but his stories about being a degen gambler and destroying his life and finances three times seemed kind of romanticized to me. I was skeptical. I can't see how his perspective on it after three such life disasters really happening would have been what he was manifesting. It wasn't jjust the fact that he joked about it but the way he talked about it when it wasn't in a joke. What a talent. I haven't seen enough of him at all.

RD Laing, for a famous psychiatrist, was pretty damn funny himself. He basically thought that crazy people weren't really crazy at all. Which, when you think about, is even crazier than some of Artie Lange's ideas.

Yeah but I don't know any of Artie's ideas. I'll have to look it up to see if he tops one of my faves, RD. Yeah RD went overboard with his ideas but he was seminal on alienation, ontological security/insecurity, what I came to call the "emissary self" standing in with true self sequestered from life. I called it the "Laing Circles" referring to a diagram in "The Divided Self," I used to know the page number.

I've heard he's a big fan of people calling Bloomingdale's "Bloomies."

I've enjoyed this montage for a while. Norm gets his guests to read his pre-written jokes, and then refuses to tell them who wrote the jokes.

This one was an all timer for me. Everything he did with Dennis Miller was gold. Here's Norm on Dennis' radio show where he was a weekly guest (almost 3 hours of material!).

Does that include the bit about how Norm bought a ventriloquist dummy that was a holocaust denier? That kills me.

I hadn't heard this before.

Lol at some chick trying to heckle Norm.

Only saw him once live and he killed.

I believe so, yes (the radio show part). I'll probably run through all 3 hours sometime this week to confirm.
