"Gone" is my #1 Kanye song of all-time.
This list lost all credibility by putting Never Let Me Down in the 70's

Can anyone explain what Kendrick's "baby turn the alphabet backwards" verse in No More Parties In LA means? I assume it means something but as a non-native I haven't been able to crack that code

I take it as having a double meaning.

(paraphrasing here)

"she said she wanted an A list rapper, baby turn around and spell the alphabet backwards"

"Spell the alphabet backwards" is a standard sobriety test for drunk drivers, so Kendrick is saying she must be drunk for thinking she is going to get an A-list rapper. Also, implying that she may have more luck starting at the bottom (a Z list rapper I guess? lol)

I think its mainly the second and saying she needs to **** her way up

Although i wouldnt doubt kendrick meant the first too. I think most double meanings tend to be losterner intepreted not the rapper thinking it themselves.

It's not exactly a crazy thesis:

Also, Kendrick thinks it's amazing, so there.

Think of how crazy and outside the box 808s was when it was released. Think of the borderline outrage from a lot of people.

Go listen to it now, and realize it doesn't sound crazy or outside the box at all in today's context, and that will tell you exactly how ground breaking and influential that album was.

Yeah i mean you don't even have to like the album or think its good, but its influence in shaping the direction of the next couple of years in rap is indisputable imo.

One has to have standards. There's no questioning tastes, but not all music is equally good or equally well made. If I say I like Field Mob better than Drake, because they could rap and were funny and influenced me to take more drugs, you'll start hollering.
