Yeah someone linked 'Thou shalt always kill' on like page 4 or something.

Judging by the only response it got - 'WTF is that ****?', I'm guessing that since most posters here are American, it's not really their cup of tea.

If you're into highly lyrical emcees, the best are by far Elzhi and Kenn Starr. Check out these two albums:

Elzhi - The Preface (all but two tracks are produced by Black Milk)
Kenn Starr - Starr Status

Both of them are aces at crafting complex multi-syllabic rhyme patterns and schemes. It isn't uncommon to hear Elzhi spit some five syllable rhyme patterns within the same line.

You also need to check out another album that came out earlier this year, The Show by eMC, a four man group consisting of Masta Ace, Wordsworth, Stricklin and Punchline. It's a concept album that follows the group's ups and downs on tour, all that with top-notch quality production.

Detroit is really the new NYC when it comes to hip hop, with guys like Black Milk, One Be Lo, Slum Village (Elzhi + T3), Phat Kat, Decompoze, Royce Da 5'9", Invincible, Finale, and countless others... you want to check all of them out, especially One Be Lo's S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M. and Decompoze's Decomposition, quite possibly last year's best release.

If you like some smooth classic beats you'll really enjoy Decompoze's work. You'll also want to check out the Low Budget crew's producers Kev Brown and Oddisee.

I also really like guys like Skyzoo or Murs... they're just so talented. Both of them have albums entirely produced by 9th Wonder. Check out Skyzoo's album Could 9: The 3 Day High... an album he made with 9th in three days, pure dopeness. Phonte of Little Brother is also one of my favorites.

Man, there are just too many. I basically play poker and listen to hip hop all day. I've been looking at this forum for ages but only decided to sign up and start to contribute yesterday, and there couldn't be a more fitting way to start off my 2+2 career than to post about hip hop on a poker forum.

If you want some more hip hop, do not hesitate to PM me. Peace.

I'm looking for rap from people say are their favorite rappers or the GOAT like nas, tupac, biggie, jay z etc. I've listened to the aforementioned rappers but not their entire discographies.

I'm looking for tracks with lyrics that make you just crack up (like redman quotables) or those that your jaw drops at how the **** did they just manage to throw that insane verse together :O

I am NOT interested in hearing tracks that are "deep" or "poetic". I'm not looking for 'lyrical' unless in the way I mentioned before.

For reference, I like Nas in Jadakiss' 'show discipline' and Mobb Deep's 'It's mine'.

I like biggies pretty famous verse from 'where brooklyn at'/'dead wrong'.

I've loved Eminems 3rd verse from 'Bad influence'

And I've always been a big fan of fabolous (Im not sure I've ever seen him mentioned on these boards.. no one else is a fan?)

Feel free to post or PM me suggestions. If you don't agree with whatever I said above.. I don't really care. But if you feel the need to tell me how dumb I am or how I don't know what real rap is or something.. PM me please.. I hate how these threads always get ultra trolled

Diabolic also has some of the most well written lyrics I've ever heard. It's insane how far above he is from everyone else.

I'm liking the new Kardinal, but I've always kinda dug him.

Track feat Pusha and Malice from it:

Bar Exam 2 is hot as well. His voice sounds really different than I remembered it on some tracks.

did anyone see pittsburgh/cleveland sunday night when the players do their little video intros of themselves saying what college their from

larry foote say "detroit persian dough boys?", i guess he went to michigan, but if anybody could provide a little more info i'd be great

right behind him ike tayler says he's from "swaggin?" madden and michaels made a a comment like wtf, was he referencing this song? (he went to Louisiana-Lafayette according to other sources)

i have mixed feelings about this song, i feel like it could be a lot better with all the talent, but it's still pretty good, and also does anyone know what kanye means when he's says he's "going for the coke number, one over jordan"? or something like that

Question

I wanna make a cd that has people rapping over the "Ambitionz Az a Ridah" beat, I'm pretty sure a lot of people have spit a verse over it but I can only think of a few off the top of my head

all i've got is

A-Team - Rydaz
Lil Wayne - I'm a Ryder
Fabolous - Can't Deny It (not the same beat but same theme on the hook)

any help is appreciated ty

Lookin for some recs, found some really good stuff thanks to this thread already.

Favorite tracks from this thread:

IT- Dance with the devil, You never know. <-- I love these songs, wowow
Datin- Turn it off-- I really like his style, frustrated I can't get his stuff anywhere yet though.
Lupe- US Placers
Ghostface- All that I got
Biggie- *****s bleed

The only two that just don't really do it for me that everyone seems to love are Jedi Mind Tricks and Pac. I just cant get in to them.

If anyone can give me some more suggestions I'd appreciate it though, great thread.

It's been out for a week or so, it's number 1 on iTunes right now, which surprises me, cause it feels like it lacks that single quality.

Anyway, he's working on a song called Heartless I can't wait for that, he performed it live, it sounds really good.

The version I posted (that was posted three days ago) was different from the one that was posted on his blog previously (right after VMA performance). This version sounds more finished than the previous one.
