Cam'ron's a class clown. He shouldn't have been any where near a serious discussion, especially when he's going to be seen as representing hip hop. But hey, hip hop is all a bunch of criminals and I'm some lame that wants the five elements back so who cares. Lol, you sound like an O'reilly viewer. I don't care about the five elements but they're a lot more important than wack ass dipset (minus Hell Rell).
This **** is entertainment to me man, nothing more. Cam was a moron on O'reily and 60 mins but that is funny to me, I could care less about the legacy of hip-hop I'm a white dude from the suburbs. I completely agree that hes a clown.

Cam still comes out with bangers (ie:Why They), and thats what I'd rather listen to over some boring ass Nas song talking about making a change. Thats basically my point. I feel like I used to share your mindset back when 89.9 was popping (if ur from nyc i hope you were listening to stretch and bobbito) but as I've gotten older my mindset has changed. Believe me I was listening to that space rap before the internet made it widely available.

because this thread is about good hip hop, not candy-ass beats and tired lyrics. and for the record, i enjoy listening to a lot of club-banger type music, i just think it's ******ed to call it good hip hop.

and i think eminem is top 10, fwiw.

i think pac, nas, biggie, jay, rakim would be in some order in just about every list. the next tier has like eminem, GZA, cube, pun, KRS, in some order imo.

IMO saying 2Pac is top 10 is funny. Dude never released a classic top to bottom album, and only has 2 or 3 discs I would call pretty good. Maybe more overrated then Wayne to be honest.

Cam'ron used to be nice when he was with Children of the Corn. He dropped a pretty nice verse on a Big L track that I'm too lazy to look up right now. He started to fall off when he started wearing pink and making up his own words.

Full Joe Budden - Who Did It
http://www.zshare.net/audio/157496913bf7e6d1/

This is all 3 parts put together.

Club Banger type music can be good hip-hop, it just isn't the majority of the time. I'm not a fan of backpackers like MF Doom or Aesop. People who are popular today but that I still consider good are guys like Lupe Fiasco, Chamillionaire, TI, Joe Budden, Royce Da 5'9" (not sure if he's considered popular though) and some Young Jeezy.

Also, I think Andre 3000 should be at least in the second tier.

By far his best album no doubt, but it's not a classic album IMO. To many skippable tracks that I would rather not listen to. I do love Heavy in the Game though, one of my favorite Pac tracks though others might not share that opinion. FWIW, I would take old school Xzibit and obviously Cube over Pac any day.

I don't have a specific top ten, but here's ten I'd say are better rappers then Eminem in no particular order.

Pac
Biggie
Nas
Jay-Z
Scarface
Andre 3000
Big Boi
Ice Cube
KRS-One
Rakim
Redman
Black Thought
Kool G Rap

That's 13 I'd say are pretty solidly better then Eminem, there's also quite a few rappers that I'd say are better but not by much and at the least are in the same group

Inspectah Deck
Ghostface Killah
Method Man
BDK
Ras Kass
GZA
Common
AZ

These are just off the top lists, I'm sure there's a lot others. Don't get me wrong, Eminem is a great rapper like I said, just not enough to crack the top ten. If I made 'top X' lists, which I don't really like to do, he'd probably end up in the teens or twenties.

I will let others break down your list cause I am lazy, but KRS-One? Big Boi? Black thought? come on

You really said Ghostface. Wow thats amazing to me. Hes ****ing terrible haha

I like most of your list, but Eminem is far more talented than most of them.

GFKe can be really good when he is telling a story but on a lot of verses, he really doesn't make any sense at all. I don't hate him but I can't really listen to his solo stuff for long, I always enjoyed him more on Wu tracks.

NE's list is filled with good rappers who don't have enough solid releases to compete with Em. Ras Kass? Rebel INS? LOL.

If we're just talking about who can spit, I'll take INS over Em. You're right that he doesn't have much of a catalouge to speak for, and I agree Em has a better solo catalouge. I guess it just depends on how we're ranking the rappers (which is why I don't like making top X lists).

On a related note, I've heard that INS was supposed to release an all RZA produced album during the first round of Wu solos, but when the album was nearly completed they lost it in a flood. One of the only records they saved was Assassination Day, aka that one track on Ironman that GFK doesn't rap on.

Not saying that means anything regarding if he's better then Em, just that it's a travesty to me that we never got that type of album from him. I don't think he can carry a whole album by himself but I'm sure he'd have a lot guest appearances from Wu in the same vein as OB4CL, LS, and Ironman.

Anyways, I can respect someone that says Em is better then INS, I disagree though. That's why I listed him in the second catagory.

But as good as Em is, he has nothing...absolutely nothing on KRS, Black Thought, or Big Boi.
