i like immortal technique's lyrics and his anger when hes rapping, but does anyone else get pretty turned off by his extremists views and conspiracy theories??? i guess i should take it with a grain of salt but it seems like he wouldnt even want a white person like me listening to his rap lol. i wonder if he believes all the **** that he says...

also a decent beat would be nice plz, i cant even blame ppl for listening to trash on the radio sometimes when at least the beats/chorus is catchy, lyrically, alot of these rappers kill the well known guys but i mean **** the songs would be much better to listen to in my car or something if the beat/chorus didnt suck.

/end rant, also dont go hip hop snob on me

can't believe nobody has said the infamous BIG L (REST IN PEACE)...dangerzone and flamboyant are easily two of the best and most under-appreciated hip hop albums ever..also, give "Acid Raindrops" by People Under The Stairs a listen, great song. Actually, most of their albums are phenomenal. Some other suggestions I have were mostly covered, but for a short list of my favorites i'd say:

Andre Nickatina (Just started listening to him as I moved up to Northern California for University..he's huge up in the bay area...really fun lyrics and beats...but many people target him for being a super coke head, which is definitely evident given his lyrics)
A Tribe Called Quest
Mos Def
People Under the Stairs
Pharcyde
Method Man (All Wu-Tang for that matter)
Big L
Notorious BIG
Sage Francis (older stuff definitely not the newer album IMO)
Blue Scholars (fairly unheard of but very good lyrically)
Hieroglyphics (of course Del's solo stuff)
Aesop Rock
Celph Titled
Cannibal Ox
Cunning Linguists
Jedi Mind Tricks
Living Legends (older stuff like "never falling down" preferrably)
MF Doom
The Grouch ("Simple Man" is one of my favorite hip hop songs created in the recent years)

Oy vey, that list wasn't supposed to get out of hand. Well, I guess you got yourself a lot of good listening ahead of you..thats if you're still reading this thread

I went to Canada for the ski season a few years ago and saw this on BET on like my 2nd night there.

I'd never heard of him before (or since for that matter), but I ****in' love this tune. Video might not to everyones taste however.

Ok so I love Hip-Hop and love underground but I need something explained to me.

Why does Immortal Technique get so much love? He makes less sense than Ghostface (GF is entertaining with his nonsensical **** at least), constantly goes on about conspiracy theories and in general seems the pioneer of "I'll us big words and random history references to make me sound smart, even if they have barely any relevance and make me sound like an idiot"

For me he gets so much love for these two tracks.

Dance with the Devil

You Never Know

A lot of his other stuff is meh, but I like his flow and he puts a lot into his work. He makes WAAAAAY more sense than Ghostface though.

You try "White People" by Handsome Boy Modeling School? Not his best but might satisfy the thirst for a bit.

aside from Lil' Wayne and eminem, rap has been embarrassing post Chronic 2001.

Oh yeah... UGK is good.
