Yeah R.A is one angry mf. He had a couple of tracks on Soundbombing 1, and one each on Soundbombing 2 and 3. Til my heart stops is probably the best.

Will have to check out some of his other stuff. I hope he hasn't chilled out any as I'm a big fan of his aggressive, dirty style. Mind you, if he did chill out, I guess he wouldn't be calling himself the Rugged Man anymore.

R.A. The Rugged Man = I'm so poor and white, it sucks. I'm just a really poor white guy. Oh, the peril of being a poor, white rapper!

I'm looking forward to the new Game album, despite the name dropping. His first two singles "Big Dreams" and "Pain" are bangers.
Big Dreams and Pain show know growth, he could of put them on the Doc or DA and it wouldn't look out of place at all. His name dropping is a subsistute for the fact that he can't rap about anything outside of 6'4 impalas and gangbanging.

Game is the definiton of a budget MC. Goes out and gets great beats and wastes them with his average generic rhymes.

Game has better rhymes than 95% of mainstream rappers, if not more.

Off the top of my head...

Jay-Z
Nas
Fabulous
Lupe Fiasco (he went gold, that's pretty mainstream now)
Common (same as Lupe)
Chamillionaire (less mainstream with his last album but still is right now)
Method Man (everyone knows who he is, I'd say that's pretty mainstream)

Are all better then him, so I doubt that.

He may be better then a lot of ringtone rappers, but is that supposed to be some type of measure of success? It's kinda like saying "Hey, at least he's no pig-man".

edit- Add Bun B to that list to, I think the last UGK album sold enough to be considered mainstream.

I think Game's lyrics are better than Common's, Lupe's, current Meth's, and I haven't really heard tons of Chamillionaire, but I'm sure they're better than him. Game's lyrics and delivery go hand in hand with his beats and I'd take his albums over the majority of those guy's albums any day.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, but fact is Game has INCREDIBLY limited subject matter. On a technical level (punchlines, flowing to the beat, multis, story telling) everyone I listed raps circles around The Game. I mean have you really listened to Common's albums? Or Lupe's? Method Man may have fallen off a bit but he has some great verses on 8 Diagrams. And Chamillionaire unfortunately will always be seen as a ringtone one hit wonder rapper with "Ridin", but he is a great MC with a long catalouge and on a technical level Game isn't seeing him.

Game's strong point is putting together cohesive albums, I'll give you that. Someone like Fab (and at times Meth) can't do that but Common, Lupe, and Chamillionaire have proved they can too so it's a moot point. For the most part Game's skill is inflated by the fact that he (or whoever chooses his beats) is great at picking beats and he has the budget to go and get Storch, Just Blaze, Cool & Dre, etc.

Also add to that list Ludacris and TI, I forgot both of them.

Yeah, agree to disagree. The guys you listed might have better lyrics on text, but in the heat of the moment with all other factors working together, Game's lyrics are just much more enjoyable to me. I agree that his subject matter is limited, but that's not a problem to me when his subject matter is exactly what I want to hear. Game has proven that he can write meaningful lyrics, he just doesn't try that often.

This is really stupid and I could write something like that for every single rapper out there, especially The Game.

If he was rapping about being a random broke rapper I wouldn't care. His "poor me, I'm a white rapper" shtick is annoying. I don't mind The Game saying "cherry red 64" and I don't care that Nas raps about Egypt.

I'd rather have one new Game album then 4 new Nas albums.

BTW, new banger:

Jeezy feat. Kanye - Put On.

Be sure to check out ATK then. tbh, I don't know much about them, but the 2 or 3 albums I have are great. Then there's NTM which are quite famous, the og's afaik. Busta Flex has some decent tracks as well.

Non-frenchie rap: I recently discovered Psycho Realm, I don't really know how well-known they are but they have some great tracks. And for easy listening DJ Honda is still the man.

I'm going to second both Gang Starr and the Roots. "Moment of Truth" may be my favorite rap song of all time.

I like The Game alot, his first two albums are classic in my mind and I like some of his mixtape work, but he gets a little too repetetive/stupid sometimes in my opinion, I agree his delivery goes hand in hand with the production he gets, but I get a little sick of hearing cherry red 6-4/Dr. Dre/rolling up a blunt and drinking hypnotic sometimes.
