And all the Radiohead fans hate Pablo Honey.
Balls, it's a great album, it's clear what signing to Parlophone did to refine their demo work, and their are some great rock/pop tracks which showed when they loved that kind of music. It's all pretty pre-experimental too, which shows how varied their musical diet was, is and continues to be.

Radiohead fans who hate that album are being snobs.

Don't get me wrong, I love radiohead. I am sure this album will be stellar. But I did not get into radiohead for a long time, because their fans say inane ******** like this.

This is one of the reasons why I don't listen to a lot of Radiohead. Their fans. I would agree with you all day that Radiohead is a talented band that make pretty good music. But their fans ruin it for me. I'd much rather listen to something less known and keep that music to myself. You don't have to go flaunt every popular band that is also good.

Funny I felt the same way. I ignored them forever because of all the hype they were getting. Eventually I gave in, accepted it, and became one of the sheep. Embrace the dark side.

Why would you care how annoying a band's listeners are?

I am pretty sure case closed has embraced the dark side...or is at least close. I made him go see Thom Yorke when he came to town.

The amount of hate Radiohead gets itt is kind of amazing to me. Radiohead isn't my favorite band or whatever, but you're crazy if you don't think they are hugely influential, creative, and talented.

To me they are reminiscent of the Beatles in that they started out as kind of a generic pop band (pablo honey and the bends) and slowly started to explore, expand, and eventually create there own genre.

You don't have to like the Beatles either, but they are def deserving of respect.

Well a lot of it has to do with their listeners being so adamant about how great they are, and the fact that they are so well reviewed. Everyone likes to go against the grain, heck I was their #1 dissenter during the OK/KidA era, but after about 10 listens I was hooked.

Kinda like when Macho Man turned face helped Hogan defeat Andre.

I've been to music festivals/shows across NA and on many forums, this stereotype of the douchey Radiohead fan that just tells everyone else RH is the best band ever just doesn't exist irl. They're probably the most popular band among U30s and the most likely to be someone's favorite, but this RH fan that irks every non RH fan is just doesn't exist offline and I would be surprised if stuff like Seadood's comment wasn't full of hyperbole.
"I don't like Radiohead as much because some dude on the internet REALLY likes them" is more painful to read then some fan expressing their support, as heavy as it might be. Separate the art from the other stuff. We have artists arrested on felony drug arrests/battery/sexual assault/murder, but I don't hear this as a reason to detest an artist as much as "well, their fans are douchebags."

I'd say maybe it was more of an American thing because sometimes you guys are more brash/aggressive, but anytime I've traveled down for a festival/concert, everyone I've met/talked too/hung out with, from Gaga to Radiohead to Green Day fans have been enjoyable to hang out with, no matter where they're from.

The same challenge has been proposed to everyone. Create a thread with another band that gets close to 36-37%.

Content - There was some version of the preorder site for the Japs that may have spoiled the number of tracks but given the number it didn't make much sense.

Who knows if it's correct but it spoils that the album might contain
Spoiler:
8
tracks. Well, at least it did a couple of hours ago. The extra info was removed off of this site http://thekingoflimbs.jp/sites/en/

even other current bands that have large fan bases and critical acclaim, like say The Arcade Fire or Muse, probably wouldn't get more than 5-10%. who else has a serious claim to such a title when you take everything into account?

What does that matter? It's a 2p2 poll. It says more about 2p2 and how no one goes against the norm than it does about Radiohead.

Radiohead are not the 'norm'. What does that even mean in this context?

Beatles (who are also horrendously overrated, btw)? Since everyone has a boner for them.
