As a child I loved Davey Crockett, Daniel Boone and Kit Carson for some reason. I frequently wore a coonskin cap and one of those shirts with the tassels on the arms. It was pretty great.

Without googling it, I think Johnny Appleseed was real and that he was a crazy guy who lived in a hollow tree and made hard apple cider. Ok, I'll google it now.

edit: Maybe crazy, maybe not. Dunno where the hollow tree came from. The apples were mostly for hard cider, but he seems to have mostly started apple tree nurseries.

My old lady's 15 year old daughter (3.8 GPA in high school) confirms she doesnt know the name or image of Davy Crockett.

I know the name and that hes some kind of Western character but that's it at 26. There was an old squeeze song that mentioned him and a joke about him having 3 ears that I used to tell but didn't understand when I was small.
