I don’t think that a small forum is the best source of information on a very complex problem so I don’t see why I shouldn’t treat it as a trip report, All the stuff that I post is true , especially about the toast

Sorry if I appear to be irritable, I am so worried about not getting accepted for admission

Write a blog. Somewhere else.

Fine, I do actually have my containment thread in the lounge.
What important information are my posts blocking by the way?
I would appreciate a reply, I tend to think that supplying evidence is a very important thing.

Since we are all waiting on the right deals obviously well
thought out and devastating intelligent response to my last post I may as well provide an update.
Got the all clear from the doc , final hurdle was to pay the bill. Sadly this required the use of my card reader, which has failed. Until I sober up there is no way that I can fix this, which is a catch 22 situation.
I think that I have found a solution, I can transfer enough money to my brother that he can arrange the bank transfer on Monday, my admission date has been pushed back to Wednesday to allow the financial department to check this

Probably the worst attempt at being casually dismissive that I have ever seen, put some effort in man.

When it gets to the point nobody is replying to your blog posts(and let's be honest, you've absolutely hijacked this thread and made it a personal blog) with encouragement or questions, maybe it's time to rethink things. This thread has the most supportive posters I've run across on the whole forum, and yet you've already seemingly worn out your welcome. 11 of the past 19 posts are by you and about you. Scroll back through the thread and find a situation where someone else posted like that. You can't do it. Because this thread isn't a personal blog.

I assure you people are pulling for you to be successful getting the help you need. But this reads more like a LVL trip report.

I get that I can be annoying but having that said I don’t think that anyone else has contributed anything useful, could be wrong. I am actually going through this.

I found out that even at the age of 60 I still have significant table tennis skills. During the match I found out that the guy I was playing against was going to the mental health unit after he had been sobered up, this was mainly due to his sister committing suicide because she couldn’t cope with the facts about his girlfriend’s disability.
A joke about this(“Well at least you can just wheel her through the car wash”) didn’t go down very well, creating a tense period until the next morning when everyone involved apologised profusely to each other.
I'm sorry this garbage doesn't belong in this thread.

edit: lol I was grunching.

And oddly enough you also have a containment thread in OTT, as you are now CONTAINED.

^^thanks. I know it’s supposed to be open to everyone but it’s to the point where other people are going to be less inclined to post their own stuff.

I’m all for letting people talk, whether sober, drunk, high as a kite….but just as in meetings or anywhere else in society, there comes a point where the aggrandizing babble isn’t serving any purpose, to the person or those around them, and they are better off going somewhere else if they want to do it.

Still don’t understand why posting about a young woman who’s boyfriend was trying to manipulate her back into alcoholism would be unhelpful

But you did understand the PM I sent you saying not to post out of containment.

If you are still drinking, you shouldn't be posting here. I am glad you are trying to get help and hopefully it works. Most AA meetings I've attended says everyone is welcome who wants to stop, but if you've drank in the last 24 hours please don't share.

That's two posts out of containment, do I hear three? These all equal 1 day bans too by the way.

Hi!
I'm nearing four years sober, and will stay so, would absolutely not take the risk to start over. The NA beer is still a hobby, but can forget about it for long times. That was definitely not the case when being into whisky. No chance you would have forgotten...getting rid of alcohol must be up there among the biggest achievements in life.

Thanks, you helped me to that guys! Now it doesn't seem so difficult, has become part of me, but just checked, still have second most posts in this thread, much from the days of the eternal cut down...

I'd place myself in the midland of a non-problem drinker and an alcoholic. Now I'm a non-problem drinker, because not drinking at all. Life has enough of challenges without making it worse by drinking.
